CHRIS OSTLER

Of the many musicians currently performing in the South West, Chris Ostler is one of the most exciting solo artists on the scene right now.

Based in Exeter, Chris writes original pop, rock, country and funk music.

He is motivated and innovated by his observations of life, people and emotions. As well as writing musically, his voice is both powerful and haunting and his ability to enthral a room is locally renowned both acoustically on his own, and with the full lineup of his house band.

Due to his upbringing, music influences and regular visits to Canada when he was a child, Chris’ sound has a much more transatlantic feel which allows his voice to blossom further with more prominence and power.

Chris is autistic, which only serves to enhance the way he writes and plays. When he was younger, he found it very hard to communicate, but through the power of music, it actually became his greatest strength and he began to write the music that he has come to be loved for. His songwriting is embellished through his motivations via his visual imagination and particularly by a connection to colour, but reinforced by a visceral relationship with strong underlying melodies.

Chris is happy to travel far and wide to perform and welcomes every opportunity to showcase his music.
