Tell the world about yourself? 

I'm not sure that's a good idea...I've always been into music, although the fact the first ever single I bought was 'Deep, Deep Trouble' by The Simpsons might cast doubt on this. I love to get to gigs when I can, and enjoy discovering new bands and albums that are away from the mainstream, who I otherwise might not have found. Of course, Musicmuso helps with this!

 

Where do you live? 

Although I'm from Devon, I live in a wee place called Kirk Michael in the Isle of Man, where I've lived since 2004. Don't worry, we don't burn outsiders in wicker statues or anything. Well, only the REALLY naughty ones...

 

What do you do for musicmuso.com? 

Anything and everything really - assisting with reviews, composing interview questions, and also wading in with the odd article or two on subjects that interest me in the world of music.

 

How did you come to being a contributor on the site? 

I'd assisted Steve, who runs the site, some years ago on reviews for a small Devon based magazine called 'What's On Southwest'. When he started musicmuso.com, I contributed jingles and introductory pieces for his weekly podcast 'The Listening Post', and have continued to write reviews for the site since then.

 

Hobbies and Interests? 

I love to write - I have several self-published books on the Kindle Store (search for them under 'P.T. Muscutt', they're cracking value at 77p each, folks!) and love to write short stories, funny pieces about modern life, TV, music...whatever makes me angry/happy/confused really. I also follow WWE wrestling, a guilty pleasure from my childhood, and write occasionally for the website http://www.wrestlingpundit.com/. Aside from that I like song-writing, walks and drives in the country, caring for my goldfish and collecting rare vinyl.

 

Three words to describe you? 

Random, entertaining, surreal.

 

Favourite artist/band? 

Tough one...like many music lovers, my tastes are wide reaching. I'd say my all time favourites are Muse, Pink Floyd, Daft Punk, The Orb, Matt Berry, Kraftwerk, Aphex Twin and Pulp.

 

Likes? 

Curries, Stanley Kubrick movies, J.G. Ballard books, Exeter City FC, Lucy Pinder.

 

Dislikes? 

Spiders, broccoli, ironing, Joey Essex, Rhyl.

 

Most treasured possession? 

The wife! Oh, and my 'Dawn of the Dead' 1978 poster book signed by make-up wizard Tom Savini.

 

What will be written on your tombstone? (let's assume you're gonna get buried!) 

'No bodies are left inside this grave overnight.'

 

Biggest achievement to date? 

Probably getting married or buying a house. I never thought I'd do either when I was younger! I also got my name printed in The Sunday People in 1993 when I cheated to get a high-score on a Commodore Amiga pinball game and won a prize (don't go forgetting winning 1st place in a pet competition judged by Little and Large in the late 80's Pete).

 

Three things that are still on your bucket list? 

A fling with Scarlett Johanssen; to publish my first actual, full-length novel; to get a tattoo.
