"Very delicate music. I'm so pleased with this new album, it's beautiful." - Bob Harris, Radio 2
Acoustic-pop star Lisbee Stainton will release her new album ‘Word Games’ on November 4th on Marionet Music.
Recorded at Monnow Valley Studio in Monmouth, Wales, and produced by Mikko Gordon (Lana Del Ray, Chris Difford) and Rupert Christie (U2, Coldplay, Lou Reed), ‘Word Games’is the fourth album from 25 year-old Lisbee Stainton, and the culmination of the most successful year of her career so far.
In addition to Lisbee's solo career, which has seen her enjoy success with the radio hit singles "Red‟, "Never Like An Angel‟ and "Just Like Me‟, she also sings and plays banjo, harmonium, guitar and harmonica in folk star Seth Lakeman’s band; a starring role that has won Lisbee a whole new audience.
Seth and Lisbee's fruitful onstage partnership led to the pair co-writing two songs on "Word Games‟, "Madron's Well‟ and "The Journey‟,with Lakeman also contributing vocals, viola and bouzouki throughout the album's recording.
The album's opening track and first single, "Red Dog Running‟, is another co-write, with Lisbee teaming-up with her guitarist for the forthcoming tour, Simon Johnson, and producer Rupert Christie.
Lisbee also co-wrote the track "Make Me Stay‟ with Irish star Eleanor McEvoy (‘Only A Woman‟s Heart‟, "Sophie‟), who will be Lisbee's special guest for the nine-date UK tour dates that begins on November 7th.
Having previously supported the likes of Joan Armatrading, Paul Carrack and Gretchen Peters on extensive tours across the UK and Europe, Lisbee's tour to support the release of "Word Games‟ takes in her biggest venues as a headline act to-date, all of which comes after Lisbee touring the UK with Seth Lakeman throughout October.
