Mr Bongo is proud to announce the release of ‘Brazilian Beats 7’ - the next instalment of the highly respected Brazilian Beats Compilation Series, in the run up to the iconic label’s 25th Anniversary.
Developing its rich musical history for over half a millennia, Brazil continues to inspire not only its own nation but also the world. For the last twenty-five years Brighton’s Mr Bongo has been at the epicentre of bringing cutting-edge Brazilian music to the UK.
‘Brazilian Beats 7’ is a collection of tracks, spanning a wide range of styles and scenes from the more obvious to the weirder and lesser known gems to be found throughout Brazil. First, to expand your musical horizons is Karol Conka, Brazil’s freshest new artist with cutting-edge bass heavy new-school hip hop assisted by her trail-blazing producer Nave. It has just been announced, her debut single ‘Boa Noite’ will feature on EA game FIFA 2014’s soundtrack, showing her crossover appeal.
Also on the album is a cover of the legendary Jorge Ben track 'Oba, Lá Vem Ela' courtesy of Jose Gonzales’ band Junip whose masterful and soulful version makes a sensational tribute to the nation's vibrant musical history.
This compilation continues the label’s persistent dedication to shining a light on the country’s wealthy musical heritage, both past and present.
