From the age of 4 Steve Blood wanted to be an astronaut but the closest he got was a school trip to Jodrell Bank and playing in the snow in a spacesuit.

Instead he chose a career in music. Steve's father, Barry Blood, was a multi-talented guitar player and his mother was a bunny girl, so it's not surprising that he followed in his father's footsteps. But it was only when Steve got his hands on a sampler that he established his own musical voice in an electronic breakbeat style.

In the mid-to-late 90s Steve ran his own record label, Woof Records, releasing a catalogue of 12" singles as 'Wide Receiver' who were championed initially as part of the Big Beat scene on Radio 1 by Mary Ann Hobbs, and Steve Lamacq, the highlight being a live Radio One Evening Session in May 1998. A series of remixing commissions followed of global luminaries like The Cardigan’s andAfrica Bambaata.

The advent of the mp3 format saw Wide Receiver top the Peoplesound.com mp3 chart with their single 'Breakbeat Sushi' which was licensed for use in the British movie 'Dog Eat Dog' in 2000. In the same year their single 'The Debt Collector' was licensed for use in the British film of the same name starring Billy Connolly.

Steve then decided on to concentrate on composing to picture and scored numerous advertising commercials. Steve Blood makes his return to the UK chart scene with his 4 track collaboration with Andrew Lee entitled The Last Xmas.

Having known Andrew Lee since they were teenagers in the 80s they have co-written 3 songs for release on Steve's Bad Dads Clublabel. Andy Lee has been singing professionally, writing and recording his own songs since the 80s. In 1989 he signed as a songwriter to Polygram Music Publishing and was a stable mate of Del Amitri and Roachford. His band The Scarey Men enjoyed success in the UKas a touring act before disbanding in 1991.

Andrew’s claim to fame is being shown the door and ejected from Simon Cowell's office in 1990 and asked never to come back.
