The Valiant launch into 2014 with the release of their debut full-length,Empress Heights. It was recorded by Lewis Johns (Palm Reader/ Bastions) and Tony James at The Ranch Production House and mastered by Alan Douches of West Westside.

The album title pays homage to the road on which they wrote the eleven tracks and this level of personal association continues throughout the release, as vocalists Ben Byrne and Si Phillips broach themes of empathy, integrity, love and loss.

The vastly differing and distinctive vocal styles of Ben’s aggressive, fiery delivery and Si’s melody laden approach, help to create versatile dynamics that are reinforced and stripped back as desired with incredibly well thought out instrumentation.

2014 will see the band logging a wealth of miles across the UK and Europe while they aim to join up with many of the bands they’ve played alongside – such as Bury Tomorrow, Funeral For A friend, While She Sleeps, Memphis May Fire - at the forefront of the heavy rock scene.

For The Valiant this is all very simple; their band is about writing music they love and having fun while they do it. They acknowledge there will be ups and downs but a huge part of what the band and specifically this album is all about is having the ability to overcome adversity. Empress Heights is a testament to this.
