Following last year's critically acclaimed album MISS WORLD which featured on many end-of-year 'Best Of' lists, Alberteen now follow sharply up with A FRENCH CONNECTION, an album of remixes and new songs, including a brand new recording of Miss World's lead track A French Connection and new mixes from 'Brimful of Asha' Anglo-Asian innovators Cornershop and Parisian DJ Comma Period, who had a worldwide hit with his remix of French artist Coleen's 'The Weight of the Heart'. Cornershop's mix was also the last ever track on their 'Singhles Club' series, recorded at Tjinder Singh's 'Sassy P' studios.

Produced by the legendary Mike Bennett (The Fall, Ian Brown, Trojan Records)  Alberteen produce dark, seductive pop classics, in the band's classic rhythm and noir style - 21st Century post-punk sonics, instantly addictive tunes and brutal, poetic lyrics.  A Girl and a Gun, the second track, has been acclaimed by Tom Robinson, Mark Radcliffe, Stuart Maccinie and Gideon Coe, all of whom have played the track on their BBC6 shows.

With Phil Shaw, a professor of English, on vocals, Alberteen is no ordinary band. Championed by Mark Radcliffe and Tom Robinson (who discovered the band),  Alberteen came to prominence with their debut album Metal Book in 2012, which led to the band being playlisted and a BBC6 session following, and 4 star reviews in the Independent and Uncut Magazine, with Louder Than War awarding 5 stars and hailing the album 'a work of genius'. Single Phil Shaw also wrote the best-selling 33/3 book on Patti Smith's HORSES. Last year's Miss World was critically acclaimed with airplay on BBC6, Absolute Radio and worldwide.

Alberteen recently played Rough Trade, as well as a seaside tour of the southeast coast with sold out gigs in such far off places as Dungeness (under the shadow of a nuclear power station) and at the iconic 'NME best new venue' Ramsgate Music Hall.  Alberteen is due to announce more new live dates in 2016.
