Already being tipped as one to watch out for this year and with Amazing Radio voting her in at No.9 for this year alongside Shura, Spring Kings & Glass Animals,Alice Jemima is set to release her sugar-sweet version of Blackstreets classic  ‘No Diggity’ via Sunday Best Recordings. ‘No Diggity’ appears on her debut self-titled album (produced by Roy Kerr; London Grammar, Bloc Party, Foxes) also released March 3rd 2017 and was her initial breakthrough single which went viral and now stands at over 3-million plays.

Quietly determined, naturally authentic and with a devastating turn of phrase, Jemima creates songs that speak of universal emotions but in a way that feels direct and personal. In Jemima’s own words,  ‘I first chose to cover 'No Diggity' after hearing Chet Fakers striped-back version of it - but I wasn’t planning to do anything with it, I was just playing around in my studio. But then I played it to my family and friends and they loved it, so I put it up on my Soundclond. I definitely didn’t expect it to get the amount of plays that it did in such a short amount of time, I’m still completely bowled over by that, and this is why it’ll be on my album.‘

Other album tracks include the creeping ‘Diamonds And Bones’ which is a whisper soft but full of foreboding; the pretty ‘Under The Radar’ skips around a pulsating bassline, while the classic-sounding ‘So’ marries an exploratory xx-esque guitar figure with percussive beats and Jemima's soft croon. ‘So’ was also the song that helped shape the sound of her album ‘My voice can sound really young – it needs to be surrounded by the right things to really shine, so I found that beats and darker keys and minimal guitar fits around my voice nicely.’

Jemima’s debut ‘Liquorice’ EP was released back in June 2016 to a receptive audience, with the lead track ‘Liquorice’ being selected by Radio 1’s Huw Stephens as his Tip Of The Week and John Kennedy’s X-Posure Big One on Radio-X and to date has reached over 600,000 Spotify streams.  Her subsequent single release ‘Dodged a Bullet’ was play-listed at Radio 1 and currently stands at over 1.5 million Spotify streams.  Her forthcoming debut album will be released via Sunday Best Recordings on March 3rd 2017.
