With pretty melodies and lush vocals that nod to the likes of Rilo Kiley and Regina Spector, Alva’s brooding piano pop has already received commercial success over in the States with her single ‘Calling me’, which was produced by John Mark Painter (Ben Folds),being used in an episode of the TV medical drama Grey’s Anatomy.

Currently based in North London, Alva takes inspiration from artists such as Peggy Lee, Kate Bush, Carole King, Dolly Parton and Fiona Apple, and describes her new single “as a song about staying in love. It’s about sticking it out even when the odds are stacked against you and staying put when everything else around you is moving.”

The single is taken from Alva’s new album ‘Modern Love Songs’, which will be released later in 2014.
