NEWS: ANNA ERHARD releases catchy new track '170' via Radicalis Music ahead of September UK tour....

Anna Erhard releases new single “170” on 4th August, in the run-up to a September UK tour (see full dates below).

This catchy, and characteristically off-the-wall, slice of adventurous indie/art-pop is the first brand new music to emerge from the Swiss-born, Berlin-based artist since her 2022 album ‘Campsite’, which whipped up a buzz that has continued to snowball well into 2023. A debut UK mini-tour in May included packed TGE showcases, a sellout London gig and live radio sessions for Marc Riley (BBC 6 Music) and John Kennedy (Radio X) – adding to heavy airplay from the likes of Steve Lamacq (who featured Anna in his TGE highlights and also in his recent New Music Fix Friday selection), Don Letts, Chris Hawkins, Lauren Laverne, Huw Stephens, Deb Grant, and several Radio X X-Posure Playlist additions.

On ‘Campsite’, her second solo album, Anna gleefully embraced a completely new way of working; produced by ex-Wir Sind Helden drummer Pola Roy, Anna shone on the album with adventurous indie-pop grooves and dry humour.

And fans will be excited to hear that she has continued in this vein with “170”, a track packed with oddball beats, clanging guitars, a deadpan slacker pop vibe and a luminous, wavy chorus.

Anna says of the song, and its playful theme: “My friend and I had a serious argument about how tall we are - I am obviously taller than her & I wrote this song to make her publicly admit that she was wrong when she said that I am not 170 (5‘7“). I’m 170 and she is shorter than me.”

The dry humour and boundless personality in her songs, is also to be found running through her promo photos and videos. It’s a lot of fun to accompany Anna Erhard on this journey of hers, through her musical and visual creations, her changes of mood, her combination of the serious and the playful, how she sometimes lets the words flow and sometimes formulates them very precisely; and how she finds ways to open up new perspectives for the genre of indie singer/songwriter.
