Dutch label Atomnation is celebrating the humble milestone of 25 releases with a free compilation featuring new sounds, old sounds and a booklet that flashes back to their 3 years of label activity.

Polynation, Olaf Stuut and Fran Seven provide exclusive new music, while rising talents Weval, Gidge, Portable Sunsets, David Douglas, Tonik Ensemble, Applescal, Koett and Sau Poler complete the compilation with a selection of sounds that has made Atomnation a label to keep an ear out for in 2015. Founded in 2012, Atomnation made noise by releasing music of new artists that have something in common: they all represent a fresh electronic sound of the highest standard. Not really focusing on one genre, but more on quality and ideas, the label became a melting pot of talent. In November 2014 the years of hard work resulted into a great milestone - Atomnation got voted as the second best label according to XLR8R readers - only beaten by WARP - in the “Labels We Love” poll. Not misplaced between imprints such as Kompakt, Ghostly International, R&S, Ninja Tune, Brainfeeder and Hyperdub.

The first track on the compilation is by new signing Polynation. Polynation are Amsterdam based friends Hessel Stuut and Stijn Hosman. "Dew" is their debut track and it's a beauty. Hessel plays the drums (live) and Stijn is jamming the analogue synths. The track starts slow with a repetitive vocal and develops throughout the minutes into an analogue sounding beast. 

The compilation continues with Weval's remix of David Douglas. Both artists released their debut EP's with Atomnation and more recently, David Douglas put out his very well received "Moon Observations" album of which the "Higher" track is taken from. The third track of the selection is by northern wonderboys Gidge. Huldra is one of the highlights of their forest orientated Autumn Bells album, released September 2014. Track number four is "Juun" by Sau Poler. He recently put out his Paradoxes Of Progress EP.

Next up is Olaf Stuut's "Lus" - a very lush sounding and playful cut where his own voice is sampled in various keys - creating a certain groove and vibe that is typical in Olaf's productions. Also Applescal's more deep house orientated remix of Tonik Ensemble found a place on the compilation. Tonik Ensemble is releasing his album "Snapshots" in February this year and also Applescal is working on a new LP.

One more exclusive track on the compilation is by Fran Seven. His "Bending Fabric" track is a deep and somewhat melodic dance track - a warm sound that we also know from his 2014 released EP, "Ripples In Time". The last two tracks are by NYC based Portable Sunsets and Russian based Koett. Where Koett's track could be the soundtrack of a movie, the Portable Sunsets song is more a warehouse sounding after-party chiller. The difference between songs, but actually also the similarities, is maybe the perfect example of what the Atomnation stall has to offer.
