NEW, EVER EVOLVING MUSIC COLLECTIVE BAD DADS CLUB RELEASE 'GOOD TO BE LOVED'….
Good to be Loved is the first release by Steve Blood and Andrew Lee under their new ever evolving music collective Bad Dads Club.
Steve Blood got his hands on a sampler from an early age, establishing his own musical voice in an electronic breakbeat signature style. In the mid-to-late 90s Steve ran his own record label, Woof Records, releasing a catalogue of 12" singles as Wide Receiver who were championed initially as part of the Big Beat scene on Radio 1 by Mary Ann Hobbs, and Steve Lamacq, the highlight being a live Radio One Evening Session in May 1998. A series of remixing commissions followed of global luminaries like The Cardigan’s andAfrica Bambaata. And a tech-house single release on Pagan records as ‘Lap dancer’ (Pagan 034).
The advent of the mp3 format saw Wide Receiver top the Peoplesound.com mp3 chart with their single 'Breakbeat Sushi' which was licensed for use in the British movie 'Dog Eat Dog' in 2000. In the same year their single 'The Debt Collector' was licensed for use in the British film of the same name starring Billy Connolly.
Songwriter Andrew Lee has been winning critical and public acclaim after embarking in late 2013 on a folk project called The Ree-Vahs! Ten original Northumbria and Durham based folk songs sung by Andy in his Durham accent have been recorded by respected producer john Taylor who has recorded legends like Albert Lee. Andy Lee has been singing professionally, writing and recording his own songs since the 80s. In 1989 he signed as a songwriter to Polygram Music Publishing and was a stable mate of Del Amitri and Roachford. His band The Scarey Men enjoyed success in the UK as a touring act before disbanding in 1991.
Carl Mann features on guitar on the Dreampop and Sunday Morning' mixes of Good to be Loved. Since 1997 Carl has played guitar innumerous bands including session work for Kylie Minogue, Sleeper, Guy Chadwick (House of Love) and features on guitar on the Wide Receiver track Breakfast Sushi.
The Super Stylers are no strangers to the world of electronic music & between them, their list of achievements to date would have many looking on in admiration. From a UK top ten single to remixing chart records for the likes of JLS, Tinchy Stryder, Michael Gray & Roll Deep. Radio 1, Capital FM & Kiss FM support the boys on their relevant flagship dance shows & working with almost every major label in the land they've ticked quite a few industry boxes and show their quality again with some sublime mixes of Good to be Loved.
