BE CHARLOTTE reveals brand new video for 'MACHINES THAT BREATHE'....
Be Charlotte has revealed a futuristic video for her brand new single ‘Machines That Breathe’ which is out today. BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award winning director Iain Hendo directed the video in Edinburgh during the Fringe Festival. Of the video Iain said the below:
"I've been a fan of Be Charlotte since the early days, always admiring the unstoppable musical talent. I directed the music video in Edinburgh during the Fringe festival. The idea was to create a layer of reality weaved through a digital narrative shining a light on people's technological habits.”
The anthemic catchy pop tune ‘Machines That Breathe’, which went straight into the viral top 50 on Spotify, is a perfect introduction into the colourful world of Be Charlotte, immediately illustrating how her creativity is quite brilliantly askew from her contemporaries.
Recently nominated for the Nordoff Robbins Big Apple Award Be Charlotte is a teenage singer, producer and writer from Dundee who is causing huge ripples in her native country and beyond. She has a knack for writing poignant socially perceptive songs that have depth and character, detailing life through the eyes of a young aspirational woman - as well as possessing truly idiosyncratic vocals and dexterous melodies. Charlotte uses digital technologies and live instrumentation to produce dynamic music that accompanies her singing, rapping and beatboxing.
The brand new double A-side single also includes ‘Drawing Windows’ which highlights the power of Charlotte’s vocal ability. The subject matter offers social comment, catharsis and a creative response to some of the difficulties many people face in everyday life.
Be Charlotte has quickly become synonymous with the endearing charisma that is displayed in her captivating live show. This summer saw the band rack up several stand out performances at festivals across Scotland as well as a debut London showcase at Birthdays. Be Charlotte has also been chosen as one of two acts officially representing the BBC at Eurosonic Festival in January 2017.
‘Machines That Breathe’ will be available to download today and is also being released on limited edition 7”. The single will include a B-Side track, ‘Drawing Windows’.
