Check out some incredible gigs taking place in Bristol later this year....


Having done a ‘what’s on’ style gig guide for Plymouth, I thought it only fair to do one for Bristol too.

Here are a few gigs that are taking place at various venues around the city throughout September and October.

MASON HILL

16-Sep-21 Fleece

Glaswegian rockers, Mason Hill, are fast becoming one of the new break through rock stories of 2021. Their debut album Against The Wall, released in March 2021, stormed the UK national album chart at number 19 and number 1 on the UK album rock chart, making it the first new British rock debut to chart in the top 20 since Royal Blood, 2014. The band are also thrilled to announce that they are to receive a PPL/PRS Momentum Fund award to enable them to record and market two new singles in 2022.

DECLAN MCKENNA

23-Sep-21 O2 Academy

Declan released his second album Zeros at the end of 2020, and will be touring the release for the first time. Zeros followed 2017’s critically acclaimed debut album, ‘What Do You Think About The Car?’, which helped propel Declan to an eye-watering 230 million streams and 200,000 album sales.

SAM FISCHER

29-Sep-21 Thekla

Sam’s debut single ‘This City’ is currently sitting on over 500 million worldwide streams and was Top 20 in the UK for 11 weeks. The track has gone double platinum in Australia, platinum in the UK and Gold in the US, New Zealand and Switzerland. Australian born Sam Fischer first introduced himself with his Not A Hobby EP and has garnered incredible attention through his soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics. Touring North America with his friend Lewis Capaldi, he wowed crowds with his buoyant personality and pure love and talent for song-writing.

BULL

30-Sep-21 The Louisiana

Formed in 2011 by vocalist and songwriter Tom Beer and guitarist Dan Lucas, Bull is an up-and-coming indie rock group whose mission is simply to make the music they wanted to listen to, inspired by their 90’s heroes such as Pavement, Yo La Tengo, and the Pixies. The band is touring their first studio album Discover Effortless Living released this year.

The Specials who enjoyed a triumphant 2019 with the release of the critically acclaimed “Encore”, their first ever number 1 album, coming 40 years after they exploded onto the music scene and launched the 2 Tone movement.

3-Oct-21 O2 Academy

The band are touring this autumn in celebration of their debut album It Won't Always Be Like This hitting the #1 spot, and in turn becoming the first Irish band in 13 years to achieve the feat. The world is a different place to when singer and guitarist Eli Hewson, bassist Robert Keating, guitarist Josh Jenkinson and drummer Ryan McMahon formed the band as teenagers in Dublin seeking to emulate the big-thinking, big-chorused indie-rock bands they worshipped with some uplifting anthems of their own. The band have earned a diehard fanbase – on their last tour, they sold over 10,000 tickets and played to sold-out crowds across Europe. Their tracks have been streamed over 50 million times globally.
