Conrad Ashton, a singer-songwriter based in the North-East, UK has just released his latest single ‘Those Were the Days’. We delve into a couple other tracks to give you a real flavour of this emerging artist.
Those Were the Days
The latest single out now is a full-scale production recorded at Blank Studios, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, of an acoustic track from his 2020 EP release "No Post On Sundays”. Ashton’s lead vocal shines here, and a there’s a classic-rock-meets-country style for this one. Epic drums and guitar make for a real riotous track brimming with emotion.

The Longest Night
Prior to this, Ashton dropped ‘The Longest Night’ after a string of successful releases including an EP and two other singles. ‘The Longest Night’ is full of depth and darkness while maintaining an upbeat vibe. It reminds us of Alex Turner meets Pete Townsend meets Elvis. The song is an intimate journey through the haunting experience of saving a friend from taking their own life. Conrad uses his powerful vocals and catchy refrains to sculpt an infectious track, yet with a deep, heartfelt meaning.
Celebrate Life
A joyous ode to life itself, this track is feel-good and perfect to get you in the mood for a night out (although that might be a distant memory now in these strange times). It will surely be a great one played live when Conrad hits the stage again.
