INTERVIEW: We caught up with HEAVY LUNGS ahead of their appearance at OUTER TOWN FESTIVAL on 13th April....
Ahead of OUTER TOWN which takes place at various venues in Bristol on 13 April, we wanted to chat to bands and artists performing so YOU can plan your day. Next up is an amazing act that, had The Beatles still been going, would have given them a good run for their money, it’s the one and only HEAVY LUNGS.
Please describe your act/band in one sentence
We are the musical equivalent of eating 10 easter eggs in 2 minutes
Please tell us a fascinating fact about you or the band that not many people would know
George came joint first on come dine with me dressed as a bin
Who would you cite as a major influence on you/your band?
I loved S Club 7 as a kid, they made me want to dance like no one was watching
When did your relationship with Outer Town 24’ start?
This is the first year i know about it but they right hooked me with a great lineup with an interesting lineup of venues
Have you played Outer Town Festival before?
We haven't but i'm most looking forward to seeing Wakey Wakey Rise and Shine, they’re really really great
What was your reaction when you knew you would be playing there this year?
We’ve never played The Trinity before, bring it on!
From the bands announced so far, who are you looking forward to seeing?
Wakey Wakey Rise and Shine, Milo's Planes, MP3 Chainsaw, Knives and Menstrual Cramps
Bristol is an amazing place, what do you love about it?
It's a place that regardless of being very hyped and placed on a pedestal, retains an integrity and uniqueness that is yet to be extinguished
Dream festival Lineup (can be dead or alive)
Gorillaz (with all guest artists), Beastie Boys, Kano, Haim, Feist, Shirley Bassey... that would be interesting
Finally, why should a festival punter make an effort to see you at Outer Town Festival this year?
Because we will probably be the loudest!
