Irish harpist and singer Joy Shannon has partnered with the dark ambient/black noise artist T.O.M.B. and released a two-song single called “Death My Bride” on Beltane (May 1). “Death My Bride” includes haunting versions of the Irish traditional “Stretched on your Grave” and Tim Buckley’s “Song of the Siren.”

T.O.M.B. lends dark ambience to Joy’s evocative vocals and harp , weaving a ghostly soundtrack sure to stir the embers of ancient Beltane fires.  

Irish artist Sean Fitzgerald created the incredible art for the cover, featuring Irish knotwork and a goddess of the earth and sea that reflects the imagery of songs.

Joy Shannon is a vocalist, Celtic harpist and cellist, working under the banner "Joy Shannon & The Beauty Marks". The Beauty Marks have recorded eight albums together: “As in the Wilderness” (2008), “The Opium Wars or Love in Lieu of Laudanum” (2009), “The Black Madonna” (2010), “Out of My Dreams and Into My Arms” (2011), "The Oracle" (2013), "Mo Anam Cara" (2015), "Aes Sídhe" (2017) and "The Cave" (2020).

T.O.M.B’s unique harsh atmospheric death-industrial style combines a relentless, fierce and primitive form of musicianship reminiscent of the old glory days of 2nd Wave Black Metal. Their latest album “Thin The Veil”, released through Dark Essence Records, featured MAYHEM’s Hellhammer on drums, alongside collaborations with musicians such as Craig Smilowski (Ex-IMMOLATION), Andy Winter of WINDS, Duncan McLaren of VENOM WOLF, and with spoken necromancy spells recited by Maurice De Jong (“Mories” of GNAW THEIR TONGUES).
