JOANovARC recently appeared at The Borderline in London, we were there....

JOANovARC have just completed their filming of a very special documentary in Europe inspired by their need to experience a tour without technology, cell phones, laptops, internet etc and returned to London for a memorable show presented by their mate, singer and actor, John Altman who accompanied the group for a few songs too.

The 4 girl band rocked the stage to death with some help of their special guests that included Dave Bucket Colwell and proved for another time that rock 'n' roll is not restricted by genders! Furious guitars with breathtaking, electrifying solos, aggressive vocals and some serious heavy drumming were all there in the Borderline yesterday that was extremely packed for a Tuesday night. The band's uplifting mood was evident and transmitted to the audience from the first chord and bass drum hit that shook the floor.

From the time you entered the venue you could tell that something big was about to happen; the setup, people's discourses and the screen behind the stage displaying the band's documentary, all presage to a unique, old-school, rock 'n' roll performance that was applauded by everyone in the venue.

As it was revealed by the band yesterday, their decision to quit new media for this documentary was followed by the question of whether they will bond or break after that. From my experience, they seemed to be more bonded and thrilling than ever, so if this was all about an experiment it definitely worked!

Among the songs they performed was "White Trash", "Live Rock 'n' Roll" and the legendary "Wild One" by Johnny O'Keefe, "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zeppelin, "Highway to Hell" by AC/DC, "Foxy Lady" by Jimi Hendrix and "I love Rock 'n' Roll" by the Arrows. Well done girls, we do indeed love rock 'n' roll!
