One of my resolutions (yes I hate the word as well) was to learn an instrument and piano sits at the top of the list; an instrument that can cross years of classical beauty with contemporary pop tracks all the while maintaining a hypnotic sound that can move you to tears in just a few short notes. When played properly, with confidence and with passionate fingertips this beautiful structure can reach endless ambition; Karin Kamar is someone who can do just that in a few minutes. He can bring tears to your eyes, stun your breath and make your heart ache with beauty as he does so in five minutes when you listen to the passionate performance of ‘Hold On’.

Kamar is a talented human being who is obviously passionate with music and art; his Facebook bio professes his “urban pianist” status dragging his music across the English capital to new areas that need to hear his beauty. He also has an ear for music, helping others in producing and collaborating, alongside running “Out-spoken”, an opportunity for people to come together and share their own music and words. He breathes music, he breathes art and simply listening to his work, you can close your eyes and hear the passion he holds.

‘In Time’ is more uplifting, an opportunity to open your lungs and be bigger and bolder, you can almost hear the sound of strings encompassing this work in a film score all the while maintaining to hold its own with just one man and his piano. Another track in his collection Songs Without Words is ‘Cocoon’, crossing angelic tones with darkened touches; his beauty with the piano renders me speechless. It reigns jealously at his passion and his skills but it can’t help bring love to my heart, the beauty of his work sits so high. It lifts your soul into new dimensions, when you hear the world of music today you cannot justify why a talent like this isn’t much more proclaimed in his work.

Not only has this wonderful gentleman made me want to learn piano myself all the more so I can only hope that I could have even a grain of his talent one day but it also wants me to see his work live. He manages to bring intimacy between a set of speakers and yourself, I can only begin to imagine what wonderful emotions you must feel when it is just you and his mesmerising skills behind that piano.
