KEVIN AHART MAKES HIS UK DEBUT WITH HIS NEW SINGLE 'THE WORLD MY LOVE' OUT SEPTEMBER 1ST....

Kevin Ahart is an old soul in the body of a 32 year old. An Austin, Texan who traded in his cowboy boots for a tuxedo at the age of five. A one time golf pro turned jazz singer: he swapped a promising career at the golf course for a life making great jazz music in the tradition of one of his idols from the past: Frank, Tony or Nat King Cole.

“Tony Bennett saw me play at my regular weekly spot at The Brass House in Austin, Texas and – I won't lie! I freaked out a little when he walked in the room and sat at a booth opposite me and the flash bulbs started popping but then after I sang he said, 'You sound great! I love your voice! Straight ahead all the way!"

Kevin Ahart is no stranger to endorsements from jazz royalty. For his debut album, Let's Take the World, Kevin worked with Jeff Franzel who in the past has accompanied Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jnr and Mel Torme.

“…tipped to give Buble a good run for his money” The Guardian

"I had the honor of working with Frank Sinatra when I was a pianist with Les Brown in the late 70's and early 80's. Since then it's been rare to find talent that remotely compares to Frank but when I heard Kevin's voice on a YouTube performance I immediately thought that I needed to meet and work with this amazing singer. He has the voice and the charisma and the signature songs to produce a long successful career." - (Jeff Franzel, New York, 2014)

Kevin and Jeff Franzel co-wrote all the original material on the album (including the title track, Let's Take the World, an instant jazz standard describing Kevin's desire to storm the world with his young wife) and A Heart That Will, an original composition which seems as if it could have been transported direct from Frank Sinatra's In The Wee Small Hours album.

Kevin's album, produced by Phil Ramone, also includes jazz cover versions of the Bill Withers standard, Ain't No Sunshine and Willie Nelson's classic, Night Life – the album is split evenly between covers and new material.

Kevin Ahart is an outrageously talented singer and composer with movie matinee idol good looks and the manners of a Southern Gentleman. "I grew up like a 1950s boy, but in the 1980s!" While others at school were into N'Sync Kevin was listening to his grandfather's record collection of Duke Ellington and Rosemary Clooney and began to write down their lyrics in his own personal version of the Great American Songbook – a habit he's kept to this day.

Kevin worked as a college basketball coach before pursuing a golf career but then found that he just couldn't abandon his love of music and the enormous natural talent he had as a singer: "For me music is like the mafia was for Al Pacino in Godfather II! I've tried to leave to become a golf professional but it keeps drawing me back in."
