LATIMER HOUSE REVEAL THEIR NEW SINGLE BIRDCAGE WALK / UNTIL THEN....

“Subtleties and attention to detail give Latimer House that extra inch to stand taller than many groups…” - The Sound of Confusion

Chiming guitars and melodic keyboards combine in the upbeat and quintessentially English ‘Birdcage Walk’, the new single from Latimer House, a four-piece band based in Prague that have been making guitar-driven, literate, pop music since 2010.

A truly international affair, Latimer House are Joe Cook from London on guitar and vocals, Baku’s Anar Yusufov on keyboards & vocals and Mike Jetton from Virginia on bass, with drummer George Kominek from Toronto.  They’ve arrived at their sound by channelling a range of different influences from classic 60s and 70s pop and rock, through to funk, folk, new wave and contemporary alternative sounds.

Although the band has the lyrical wit of Neil Hannon and the cool, casual delivery of Ian Drury, their music is strikingly original.  Their debut single, the gloriously catchy ‘This Is Pop/Shake!’ garnered great reviews and trans-Atlantic airplay, with DJs praising the band’s insightful lyrics, individual sound and the integrity of their recording; Latimer House don’t hide behind studio effects.

This edit of Birdcage Walk, an infectiously upbeat pop workout, is the second single to come from the band’s debut album ‘All The Rage’.  It’s backed by the previously unreleased Until Then, which combines sharp socio-political observation with some honking guitar and an accomplished arrangement. This release is destined to win Latimer House even more friends around the world.
