LEWIS CAPALDI took the roof off Bristol's O2 Academy with a crowd pleasing set, read our live review....

LEWIS CAPALDI has fast become a household name, whether it be for his timeless tracks that burrow into your inner psyche or his ongoing spat with the older Gallagher brother that never fails to amuse. It did make me smile when he posted a picture, hanging out with Noel’s daughter (Anais) at a party, this must have been the straw that broke the camels back…..

However you found this super talented Scottish singer songwriter, one thing’s for sure, he’s got a certain knack when it comes to creating hit singles, so buckle up and enjoy the ride!

We were invited to attend his sold out show in Bristol, hosted at the famous O2 venue where he was playing tracks from his chart topping debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent. As we approached the venue, one thing was for sure, people were excited, both for the prospect of being there and also to get a glimpse of one of THE finest songwriters that is currently entertaining his loyal fans the whole world over.

Kicking off proceedings was Brighton based chanteuse GRACE CARTER who took to the stage and played a beautiful set which included her latest song ‘Fired Up’ which is a perfect blend of pop and soul and pleased the masses no end.

Up next was a band that we played on our radio show a couple of months back, they’re called THE SNUTS and they’re a fab indie rock quartet from West Lothian. The highlight of their set for me came in the form of ‘Maybe California’ which sounded as rich and vibrant live as the night it rang out across the airwaves!

Lewis Capaldi looked cool and relaxed as he took to the stage to take the room on a roller coaster ride through his album.

His set was perfect, not as long as I would have liked but to be honest with you, it was well paced and included a great mix of tracks which the audience lapped up. Songs such as ‘Someone You Loved’ and ‘Hold Me While You Wait’ were kept until the end of the show and ignited a mass singalong from the entire room and it was lovely to see Lewis stood there, attempting to take it all in.

If you missed out on tickets this time around, you can catch him in Spring 2020 when he plays a ton of European dates including a couple at Wembley Arena prior to jetting off to America to woo the yanks and win the hearts of everyone there too! Lewis is one busy man and I don’t see the momentum slowing anytime soon, catch him while you can!
