Building on the momentum of their previous single ‘Lights Out’, Frank Follows presents their latest indie-rock anthem ‘Hey!’ Finding its way onto Spotify’s New Music Friday Playlists in both Sweden and Denmark, ‘Lights Out’ was a pivotal release for the Sweden-based group. With over 152,000 streams on Spotify alone, Frank Follows showcase their ever-evolving sound with this new release. ‘Hey!’ is set to be yet another milestone from the three-piece band, undoubtedly propelling them to even higher heights on its’ release on the 14th of June.
Thematically, ‘Hey!’ is rooted in lead-singer Adrian’s introspective journey to finding his voice. Embodying a newfound authenticity and vulnerability, ‘Hey!” delves into unchartered emotional depths with unwavering honesty, making a bold step for the band’s sound. The track is driven forward by a slick guitar riff, which shape shifts and evolves as Adrian’s lyrics unfold. The drum line is a grounding force of the track, pounding away underneath the light and airy choruses. ‘Hey!’ is an infectiously sunny, catchy track, boasting a memorable hook and captivating harmonies, yet all the while, a profound message of vulnerability and self-perception is woven into each refrain. The track’s conception began as a blossoming riff from guitarist Mans and producer Olof, which Adrian then penned the catchy ‘Hey!’ over. Speaking on the meaning of ‘Hey!’, lead-singer Adrian shares, “This song is a shout into the void hoping to get an echo. It's the selfish need to be heard. To be understood. When the vertigo from all the things flashing by gets unbearable, what else can you do but yell: “Hey!”.”

Frank Follows is made up of lead singer and guitarist, Adrian Berhardson, guitarist Måns Ekholm, and Olof Victor on keys and production. Having met as students at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, Frank Follow’s have been honing their signature brand of indie-rock for a while. Whilst looking for a lead singer, Adrian began recording the vocal demos, yet his captivating vocal tone and unique flair for performance quickly became the foundations of the band’s debut album ‘Flight Thoughts’. This release was a defining moment for the group, as their bold ambition to debut with an album secured their place as a rising force in the Swedish indie-rock scene.
Citing influences in the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club, Bon Iver, Dayglow and Phoenix, Frank Follows are fusing their eclectic influences into a unique brand of indie-rock. Having performed at the renowned Sofar Sounds, as well as Swedish festivals Andorra and Live At Heart, Frank Follows’ latest offerings are an exciting addition to their engaging live sets.
