We took a listen to "Little Red Runaround" by the THE ANDY QUICK BAND, we liked it, I'm sure you will too....
Andy Quick has been busy this summer, Land of the Giants have taken the year off and yet still managed to rack up more than half a dozen gigs, including the opening party of 'Tunes in the Dunes' last month along with an awesome acoustic performance at Hope Cove.
The main focus of his creative efforts is his eponymous band, The Andy Quick Band, a four piece which affords him the licence to explore a massive range of styles. The last release we reviewed was "5 Less" at the end of 2017.
Andy finds himself at Port Eliot Festival later this month and at Boardmasters and Watchet Festival in August. He rounds off the summer with a slot at Henry’s Little Big Gig, a proper festival in deepest Cornwall.
Andy’s upcoming release is the splendid, bluesy, 70's throwback; "Little Red Runaround" which carries delicious bass guitar riffs from Josie complementing Andy’s lead guitar, Martin’s perfectly sleazy hammond organ melodies and the smashing rhythms from the Jackal himself. Even the magnificent Sax of ‘Superstar Tom Keel’ makes a guest appearance on this cheeky little number.
Little Red Runaround is a saucy ode about a boy who has an overinflated idea of the aphrodisiac qualities of his other other love, his 'Little Red Run Around' and a girl focussing on putting bread on the table….. It’s a tune about the frustrations of a couple who are over thinking things when they should be having fun. “Step into my world babe, close the door behind….” Who could resist You shouldn’t. Look out for an announcement on Andy’s website from Thursday 18th July…..
