LUKE CONCANNON

At the age of twelve, Luke Concannon ended up at a Catholic Liberal Arts school, with bass-player John Parker.  They became good friends, sitting in a room for hours after school, playing and writing. The two boys evolved into a duo, now known world wide as the famous ‘Nizlopi’.  The beyond talented duo are famed for their number 1 hit ‘The JCB Song’.

Luke Concannon is a singer-songwriter with a unique ‘Motown Folk’ sound that is both infectious and captivating. Luke sings about the protest movement, family, intimacy and sometimes erotic camping. One of the most radical, authentic, passionate and soulful singers on the UK scene, he is most widely known for his UK No1 hit ‘The JCB song’ while in the duo Nizlopi (selling close to 1 million copies). The group pioneered the folk hip-hop sound that was so influential on the now mega star Ed Sheeran. Sheeran hails Luke as one of his heroes and mentions Nizlopi whenever discussing his biggest influences.

Luke’s live shows are renowned for being interactive, fun, energizing events in which the audience are invited to sing, dance and sometimes take their clothes off! Luke has opened for Billy Bragg, Jamie Cullum and Christina Aguilera; and counts Hugh Jackman, Benjamin Zephaniah, Daniel Day Lewis and the late Tony Benn amongst his admirers. In 2009 Luke hitch hiked from England to Palestine embarking on a life changing journey. After being found by a bear in the woods, taken in by a Turkish family (who’s hospitality inspired his first solo single ‘Around the World’) and volunteering as a peace worker in Palestine, the trip would prove to be the main source of inspiration for his first solo album ‘Give It All’. The record is a radical, passionate, full on folk album.

In Sring/Summer 2016 Luke will embark on a UK tour playing venues and festivals around the country. Some will be solo performances, some with his 3 piece band, all will be memorable. Throughout the tour he’ll be playing a selection of songs from his debut solo album, some old Nizlopi classics, as well as some very exciting new material written since the turn of the year!

SWALLOW AND THE WOLF

Suffolk boy Russell and Australian girl Jess tell stories of every day passions, extraordinary moments and unsung heroes. Their sound is driven and picked acoustic guitar, mercurial, bass heavy piano lines, lo-fi drums, rich cello lines and melodic vocal harmonies.

The duo have picked up support from Tom Robinson and Chris Hawkins at BBC6, Sophie Little BBC Norfolk, Billy Butler BBC Merseyside, and John Govier BBC Devon.

Their latest record Fire EP was recorded with Oliver Som and Cy Reynolds at Guy Chamber's Sleeper Studios (Robbie Williams, Miles Kane, Katy B).

The result is an epic, yet intimate record - balancing poetic lyrics with widescreen sounds. In the past year the duo have driven across the Country in a DIY tour of the UK, and with piano and guitar in hand rocked on and off trains and buses across Germany and Holland.

They've curated and hosted music events for Private Member Clubs Apartment 58 and Record Club as Beatnik Events - notably praised in the Telegraph as 'passionate promoters...a real community spirit' and by Run Riot as being 'passionate about nurturing new talent'.

They've supported Simone Felice (of The Felice Brothers), Rachel Sermanni, Gilmore and Roberts, Phildel, Jake Morley, Kimberly Anne, Kal Lavelle and Jamie Lawson.
