MAPEI ANNOUNCES DEBUT LP HEY HEY COMING SEPTEMBER 22ND ON COLUMBIA RECORDS/ DOWNTOWN RECORDS....
Stockholm-based recording artist Mapei, who achieved both success and critical acclaim with her first single "Don't Wait," has announced the release of her highly-anticipated debut album, Hey Hey, on September 22nd via Columbia Records/Downtown Records.
She has also released a new track, "Change," which premiered recently on NPR's All Songs Considered.
With its uplifting, positively-politicized message, "Change" finds the Rhode Island-born artist building on the universal themes of love and acceptance introduced on her debut single. "We change with the season," Mapei says. "Make sure it's for a good reason." The club-ready track – along with "Don't Wait" and the majority of Hey Hey – was produced and co-written by Swedish producer Magnus Lidehall (Katy Perry, Sky Ferreira, Britney Spears). See below for the complete Hey Hey tracklist.
Mapei has experienced milestone growth since "Don't Wait" first surfaced online. An undeniable hit – with over 8 million combined streams, four Hype Machine no. 1s, a month-long stint on Spotify's viral chart, and remixes with Chance The Rapper, Frankie Knuckles and Kingdom – "Don't Wait" continues to impact culture. The track, which sports a Dori Oskowitz-directed video currently being played across the board, will be released in the UKJune 30th with champions including Pitchfork, Clash, Fader, Vogue, Buzzfeed, W Magazine and Dazed & Confused.
