Prodigiously talented singer-songwriter, Marley Blandford, is proud to announce the release of his new single, ‘Feel The Rain'.

Aged only 19, Portsmouth based Blandford has already achieved a great deal in his burgeoning career. Previous single, ‘Midnight Train To Paris’, was released in 2013 to great acclaim, winning support from BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson and his new single.

‘Feel The Rain,’ meanwhile, sees him collaborate with legendary brass musician, Martyn Ford, who has worked with such acts as Led Zepplin, Paul McCartney, and Elton John. Speaking of Blandford, Ford says:

"Marley has a distinctive and unique vocal quality and I am thrilled to have been invited to help arrange some tracks for him. His live and studio delivery is superb – no auto tune needed here!”

It is easy to see why Blandford's previous single, 'Midnight Train to Paris', gained the young musician such praise. An ode to young love - the track offers a slice of folk infused pop music and provides the perfect platform for Blandford's soulful vocals. Upcoming single, ‘Feel The Rain’, is a more poignant offering, lifted by infectious brass melodies courtesy of Jamie Talbot, Mike Lovatt and Richard Edwards, and has already received airtime from Alex Lester on BBC Radio 2.

The new single comes from Blandford's upcoming debut album, 'Shine On'. The calibre of musicians and collaborators that Blandford has attracted for this album are a clear indication of his immense quality. Former Elton John and Hookfoot sticksman, Roger Pope, was set to provide the album’s drum track before tragically passing away in September 2013, following a battle with cancer. At Pope's request, Blandford played the album's title track at his funeral, receiving a standing ovation from the music icon's friends and family. Speaking about Blandford before his passing, Pope was suitably praising of the young star:

“Marley is the most talented young singer/songwriter I have ever heard with a really unique voice”

The new single and album are the culmination of years of hard work from Blandford. It is hard work that has clearly paid off, and whilst the young songwriter wears his influences on his sleeve - his music remains forward thinking and progressive. Multiple genres are straddled as Blandford tips his hat to Ben Howard, John Mayer and The Police along the way.

Having already won support from numerous established artists, including McFly’s bass player Dougie Poynter, ‘Feel The Rain' delivers on class and charm. This is just the beginning for Blandford, but if he can maintain the standards he has already set, he is sure to have a fantastically successful career.
