After a stunning run of dates earlier this year including shows with Ed Harcourt at The Roundhouse and Celtic Connections, Martha Wainwright returns for 8 UK dates including a show at Student Central 11th July. New single ‘Franci’ will impact 14th July via [PIAS].

 
Written by Martha Wainwright and produced by Brad Albetta (Angus & Julia Stone) & Thomas Bartlett (Sufjan Stevens,), 'Franci' is one of two songs about Martha's second child Francis from her sublime album 'Goodnight City' - the other, 'Francis', was written by Rufus. Martha's soft and soothing vocals perfectly encapsulate the bond between mother and son, and, crucially, the track was a big hit with Francis himself.

 
‘Goodnight City’recalls the emotional rawness of her debut album and had the critics raving. Martha wrote half the songs on the album while the other half were written by friends and relatives: Beth Orton, Glen Hansard, Rufus, Wainwright, Michael Ondaatje and Merrill Garbus of tune-yArDs.
