Black Borrachero

Black Borrachero consists of two Scots, Chris Goldie (drums) and Nicholas Traill (bass) and one unfortunate fellow from Milton Keynes, Nick Fisher (singer and lead guitarist). Fisher fled his home city in pursuit of the Glasgow music scene and to begin the 3-piece post-grunge act.

Bands such as Dinosaur Pileup, Fangclub, Superheaven and Gender Roles, brought back a sound that Borrachero thought had passed. With the band so happy to see the resurgence of such sounds as Rival Schools, Hundred Reasons and obviously good old Nirvana coming back around again, it gave them the drive to keep going.

Their debut show was at King Tuts which led to some great exposure and feedback from the Glasgow music scene. After some more shows round town, and the release of their next single Numbskull, in came an email from one their fave bands Fangclub! They were coming over from Ireland and wanted Borrachero to support them at The Garage. An absolute highlight. Stephen Gerrard from Fangclub even did the artwork for their latest single Idle Time and created some T shirts for them of his own accord!

The latest single ‘Idle Time’ was recorded at the bands own studio and mixed by Chris Goldie and Nick Fisher, who are both Sound Engineers in their own right. They aim to record other local Glasgow rock bands, to help build and strengthen the scene of fuzzy guitars.

The song is about the fact that the mind needs Idle Time, in order to be creative. All too often these days we fear boredom and find a quick fix. This is dangerous for the imagination. Be bored. Be alone. Deal with it. Think.

Aleksandra Denda

The release of Inner I follows Aleksandra’s great success as a featured artist on 2020 Grammy-nominated album ONA which rendered her a Grazia magazine cover and attention from both Europe and US media. The new single drops just 10 days before her performance at the biggest global event of the year DUBAI Expo where she will perform with her international band on Jubilee stage on Christmas Eve.

Smudging the lines between avant pop, trip hop & nu-jazz sonic tapestries, Inner I tells the archetypal tale of hero’s (or better said SHERO's) inner journey of setting off to the unknown places, facing crisis, winning a victory and returning “home” transformed.

The music video was directed by SONY ambassador and multimedia artist Nemanja Maras and features different female characters that represent Carl Jung’s-inspired archetypes, while drawing visual inspiration from prolific female artists such as Frida Kahlo and Marina Abramovic. The production credit goes to LA-based Oscar winning film scorer Giosue Greco.

About the newest release that was released on Dec 14 2021, Aleksandra shares: "Sometimes you need to be broken down to pieces to be able to put yourself back together again. Writing Inner I was an important catalyst in that realisation and transformation." Introspective and vulnerable, Inner I launches Aleksandra’s holistic, innovative artistry to new heights.

Raincrowd

New Jersey based indie rock alternative band, RainCrowd, announced the release of their year-end compilation album entitled, “XXI".

"Being an indie band without a big budget for marketing, we wanted to re-inform everyone of the singles we recorded this year and hopefully gain more exposure to new listeners", notes frontman, Chot Ulep. "And we also added another single which some may even recognise", he added.

“The album is a compilation of singles released during the year. Each single is unique as we have a diverse influence - from Beatles to Queen to Beach Boys, Ventures, New Order, Green Day, Tears For Fears, GNR, etc. Critics and other industry pros have a hard time classifying our music so we just call it multi-genre. LOL.

RainCrowd's year-end EP, “XXI”, was released on January 1st, 2022 and is available at major music streaming platforms and believe me, there’s no better way to see in the new year with this fantastic EP!

My Fine Companions

My Fine Companions is a six (sometimes seven) piece band from London playing a blend of indie-folk, Americana and country music… as we like to say: My Fine Companions. Country folk music. Played for fun. Usually accompanied by beer.

“This is our second release in the lead up to our upcoming fourth album, which is due to be released in March 22”.

Nick Kidney, the band’s creative force and multi-instrumentalist writer, explains the story of the song ‘O Daughter’. “I wrote this song when my daughter left home to live in Colombia with her boyfriend. Being without her made me start to think about the three most important women in my life (my daughter, my mother and my wife) and the different ways each of them had enriched my life.”
