Well folks, it’s 10th February, nearly Valentines Day and I have to admit that I haven’t even thought about what to get my lovely wife, maybe I’ll create her a one off playlist via Spotify full of slushy love tracks that she can listen to on her way to and from work….maybe some flowers, as long as I remember to do SOMETHING, I should be okay!
So, what’s been happening in the world of new music? well, lots, so much in fact that I have enough material to put out a brand new 9 track playlist every two days until the end of March….I know, how crazy is that?
Anyway, back to the present day and we have 9 of the finest new offerings for you to check out. Underneath the playlist, you’ll find bios from our featured bands and artists, spare 2 minutes, have a read and click on their socials and give them a like or a share, they’ll thank you later!

Tom Morris
Tom Morris is a singer-songwriter from Elgin, Scotland. A talented musician with years of experience playing in bands, he released his first single ‘The Darks Hours’ in July 2020. It was played on Amazing Radio and Jim Gellatly added it to his ‘August 2020’ playlist which contained his favourite new and emerging Scottish tracks. All proceeds from sales of ‘The Dark Hours’ on Bandcamp were donated to the 'Scottish Association for Mental Health' (SAMH) charity.
Influenced by Kurt Vile, Therapy?, S.Carey and Sun Kil Moon, Tom’s songwriting starts with an acoustic guitar and an ear for melody. He was featured in Jim Gellatly's 'New Music' column in the Scottish Sun Newspaper in January 2021.
His 5th single ‘He Set Himself On Fire’ is out now. The song is written about the self-sabotage found within modern-day society and the lengths that people will go to get it.

Red Skies Mourning
Red Skies Mourning basks in the afterglow of creation, letting music take him down roads both familiar and unknown.
The Maryland-based Rock artist has been around the block, playing in numerous hardcore bands throughout the 90s.
Today, he is focusing on his own alt/rock, alternative, alt/pop, sound.
‘Lost Without You’ is his latest track that landed on Jan 8th. This track was the first initial song from the entire rebranding of Red Skies Mourning blending multiple genres working with Ryan Curtis and Cesar Da Emperor.

"'Walking True' is about investigating the mysteries of life and the desire for inner peace and truth," Matthew Hayes Jacobs says of his new track release. "The lyrics explore my personal journey to grow in wisdom. There is a verse about my experience with Zen Buddhism and how my practice in this tradition has transformed my life. I also talk about the rewards of traveling, in this case to Kyoto in Japan, where I experienced an expansion of understanding. For me, this is a zen inspired folk song about living an authentic life."
Sage of New England is a band led by singer/songwriter Matthew Hayes Jacobs with producer Justin Tracy.
Matthew started guitar at age 7 and fell in love with writing music at age 14. His intention is to write music with depth, particularly exploring themes of transformation and compassion. While the music is reflective, it also employs a wide palette of colours, instrumentation, and hints of other genres--including folk, bossanova, and progressive rock.
They are based in New York City and Kingston NY.

The Fisherman and His Soul
‘Ennio Ennui’ is the new single of The Fisherman and his Soul, the solo project of Sebastian Voss from the Dutch- German indiepop duo Nah...
His influences range from 60s influenced jangle sounds to post-punk to dancy synth grooves with the British indie aesthetics of the 80s and 90s.
The Fisherman and his Soul has grown to a worldwide family of collaborators, such as German bassist/ producer Ekki Maas (Erdmöbel), Paul Darrah (Tenant from Zero), Fiona Sangster (X-mal Deutschland), Kev Robertson (The Vapour Trails), Ed Ling (FM Towns), Always You, Chris Free (The Sound of Pop Art), Pogo McCartney (Messer), Lars Schmidt (Subterfuge) and music journalist and former bandmate André Bosse to name but a few.
‘Ennio Ennui’ catches the orchestral aesthetics of late 60s music productions, on the one hand in the form of a dramatic Arthur Lee-like song which captures the increasing paranoia of an old narcissistic and misogynist actor, on the other hand in the form of a light footed piece of instrumental bossanova muzak.
