musomusofm on the radar playlist #20 - Zoe Deuce Papi, Dorothy Milone, Joshua Woo and more....

Well my darlings, it’s Valentine’s Day, I hope that you took my advice in the last post and either went out, bought a card and some flowers and made sure that you other half got them in time? Failing that, there was always the fallback plan of creating a Spotify playlist, similar to what I do but tailored more for you both, either way, I hope you’re not in the doghouse!

I managed to pop into town the other day and purchase a lovely card showing two penguins walking along, side by side leaving footprints behind them, very sweet and even better, it was a ‘Fairtrade’ card from Oxfam so as well as keeping my wife happy, I also did my bit for charity, double good feeling inside me today!

Back to the music, I can’t really say that any of the tracks on this playlist are themed around Valentine’s Day but even so, no excuse for you not to play it as loud as you possibly can! 9 tracks from 9 brilliant unsigned acts and artists from all over the world, just find yourself 30 mins and hit play on the embedded playlist below!

Once you’ve had a listen (or whilst you listen), why not check out the bios of our featured artists below? All of their social links are there, go have a browse and see if anything tickles your fancy!

See you on the other side!

Dorothy Milone

Dorothy Milone is blessing music fans around the world with yet another clever song and music video.

This time around the song is titled “Lucky,” and its accompanying video proves just how fortunate we can all end up when playing games with the wrong partner. Serial daters are familiar with the pain of feeling as though they gave too much time and energy to a person whom was undeserving, and Dorothy Milone uses velvety vocals over an acoustic beat to expertly express that emotion. “Lucky” embodies a melodic R&B track that almost anyone can relate to.

The music video for “Lucky;” however, takes the tune in an exciting direction that music listeners likely would never expect. With the rise in popularity of everyone’s favorite villians, “Lucky” incorporates a few horror film icons to illustrate how badly one can end up when trying to take advantage of an unassuming companion.

The Dorothy Milone ladies are letting us know that they are the last group of girls that anyone should try to get over on. Looks can always be deceiving and these ladies have embraced their inner darkness. Make sure your luck never runs out around Dorothy Milone!

Joshua Woo

“10-2-1” is the third single by Indie Singer/Songwriter and Producer Joshua Woo.

Always restless in his search for new sounds Josh steers left of the Indie Folk leanings of his last song “Without The Fear” this time exploring the sonic landscapes of Indietronica and Trip Hop. This divergence in genre is not without its reasons however. Where “Without The Fear” was a more grounded song - tackling personal issues of mental health and self acceptance.“10-2-1” travels into space. This new single's subject matter is a, for now, fictional story of the final person left on Earth after everyone else has been evacuated due to climate change. They have one job which is to make the place liveable again. The song also tackles themes of loneliness, isolation and regret.

The song's soundscape is a mixture of synthesizers, drum loops, samples, percussion, real bass and guitar and manipulated sounds. It's also the first Joshua Woo single where Josh has not performed all the instruments himself and features Delta Crab providing some additional synth work. The song was written, produced, mixed and mastered by Woo in his home studio.
