Well folks, it’s finally happened, the last playlist for February 2022 is here, to think that we will be entering March in a couple of days is amazing, not sure where the time has gone but I do know something, the amount of new music we have featured since the start of January 2022 is incredible, 189 acts to be precise.
Think about it, even if 10% of the people who check out the playlists on a regular basis take a closer look at the band or artist featured, that’s nearly 20 that would never have been discovered, multiply this by 12 and you get nearly 250 acts that we have assisted in one way or another via the playlists which is incredible.
What YOU, the listening people need to do is carry on checking out the bands that you enjoy on the playlists I put out, granted you can’t be doing that for every one that makes your ears prick up but even if you do it once per playlist, that would make such a difference to me as a blogger and of course the act itself.
On playlist #26, we have another 9 staggeringly good bands and artists to play you who hail from all over the place. We have 7 featured acts this time, why not spend a little time checking them out below the embedded Spotify playlist, you’ll find a detailed bio and links to all of their social media pages.

Eoin Devereux
Eoin Devereux is a 19 year old artist from Ireland.
‘Set My Eyes on You’ is a song written about a girl he had a crush on in college and how he was young and he didn't (and still doesn't) understand that feeling of setting your eyes on something beautiful.
The song came from that pain of missing out on someone you really did love. Classic ending, she got with someone else and he had to go through seeing her with him. He admits It was a hard feeling to deal with but it made this song, for which he is grateful.
The underlying message of the song would be that you should love yourself before anything else and that having a crush on someone is a very complicated feeling that no-one understands, just love who you are and the right person will eventually come along
Eoin began writing songs in his bedroom after going through hard times. He didn't really fit in growing up and felt something of an outsider, out of place everywhere he went.
Music is his place, it is where he feels he belongs and so believes it is a safe place for people who have not found their place in the world to express themselves in even some small way, via the power of music.

Nathaniel Paul
Nathaniel Paul is a Singer-Songwriter, Producer and Multi-Instrumentalist and has created a full length record from a closet.
Glide Magazine says Nathaniel has created, “a bold musical statement with cutting vocal dynamics that weave throughout warm and fastidious instrumental color. Paul possesses an acute sense of production and arrangement, creating a whimsically creative world reminiscent of Tame Impala and Mac Demarco.”
His latest track “Turpentine”, explores the homogeneity that is being forced upon us from the world at large. It's time to examine the conveyor belt that is moving us along - and start asking some questions.
Nathaniel Paul releases his sophomore album (also titled Turpentine) is due to land in Spring 2022 and his last single “songbird” reached #24 on the SubmitHub All-Time charts.
Definitely an artist worth checking out and one to watch for the future.

Evie Balfe
Evie Balfe is a songer songwriter who draws influence for her music from the likes of The Weeknd, CHVRCHES, Maggie Rogers, Glass Animals and BANKS.
Evie has had frequent BBC Introducing radio plays and has been played on BBC Radio Lincolnshire and Hoxton Radio. Her newest single ‘According to Maybe’ which was released on 21st January will be featured as the end credit song for the latest short film by Director and Writer, Hayley Osborne.
‘According To Maybe’ speaks to anybody suffering with low self esteem. It was written during a period where Evie was struggling with self esteem and considering giving up. The song reminds her and others to keep going. Writing it helped her to fall in love with creating music again for herself without putting pressure on it. She hopes that others will take inspiration from it and gain the confidence to no longer reject themselves. The production is heavily influenced by the sound of the 80's.

A J Porter
A J Porter is a multi instrumentalist whose solo project kicked off in late 2020. He draws influence from many acts including Prince, The Beatles, Parcels, Everything Everything & Christine & The Queens.
As a session guitarist/band member he has performed at Derby Assembly Rooms, London’s 100 Club and Liverpool’s famous Cavern Club as well as appearing on BBC introducing East Midlands (prior to moving to Manchester), he aims to kick off his solo project as a live act in 2022.
Of the track he says, “Lyrically the song depicts a person who has been unlucky in love - experiencing a string of disappointments - and becomes cynical , disillusioned and lacking in hope. The narrator promises this person that he is different and worthy of trust, but it is deliberately left unclear as to whether he should be believed. The subject has heard it all before.”

Bar Dog Music
Bar Dog releases new single ‘Don't Follow Me’ which is a duet about love, grief and life after death.
The central element of the song is the dialogue between a man and his deceased wife. The American songwriter Rosa Tu (also member of The Famous Gold Watch artist collective in Berlin) sings the female part and infuses it with an incomparable warmth and depth. Together with Bar Dog's deep baritone, a lively dialogue is created that almost makes you believe you are listening to an actual conversation.
The music video consists of old Super 8 films, from Bar Dog's family archive. They show scenes of his grandparents with their children. The footage includes moments from four decades of shared life, beginning in the 1950s. Bar Dog dedicated the video to his grandmother, who passed away in 2019.
‘Don't Follow Me’ is the third single from his upcoming album ‘River’ which consists of 12 songs that tell of friendship, love, death, faith and hope. The album was recorded at "The Famous Gold Watch" in Berlin and produced by Cameron James Laing and Gidon Carmel.
‘River’ is the powerful followup to his critically acclaimed debut album ‘Winds and Home’, released in 2019.

S J Denney
S J Denney is a singer-songwriter based in Essex, United Kingdom.
He fell in love with music from an early age, after stumbling across vinyl copies of The Beatles’ White Album and Neil Young’s Harvest.
S J was originally a choir boy and performed in a number of venues across his local county. His next stepping-stone was learning to play the clarinet. Whilst music theory gave him a solid foundation, Denney soon decided to focus his efforts on self-learning the acoustic guitar and writing songs.
S J has performed in various bands, duos and now as a solo artist. These endeavours have seen him gig across the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
‘And Then You Wonder’ was inspired by the tough Covid restrictions many of us have faced, and looks at how lucky we were before all this happened. In the song, the characters dream of a return of the freedoms they once had. Musically, the song was influenced by ‘Eleanor Rigby’ by The Beatles.

Mark Sutton
Mark Sutton is a pianist who has performed at The Cheltenham Fringe Festival, has been played on Radio 2 a few times and on BBC Introducing Radio Solent.
His latest track ‘Pirouette’ has an almost ambient feel to it, just a stripped back piano which has proved very popular.
If you’re looking for a beautiful piece of music to help you unwind after a stressful day in the office, this is it, lay back, close your eyes and let the track enter your psyche and work its magic, it did the trick for me….. so much so, I listened to it straight afterwards to elongate the journey.
