As we near the end of April, dare I say that Summer is finally on the way? the clocks have gone forward, we have an extra hour in the day and that has certainly benefitted my 2 dogs who now get an evening walk instead of just a daytime trip to the park.

We are now starting to hit festival season and this weekend, I’m off to RATTLERFEST which is a small festival in Cornwall that takes place on a cider farm, what could possibly go wrong? Bands including Utah Saints, Dub Pistols & The Feeling will be playing, Scott Mills off the radio will be there to play a live DJ set full of club bangers and there are LOADS of other bands and acts performing over the 3 days across a variety of stages, can’t wait to get down there and get involved!

As for the new playlist, I have once again trawled the web for the finest new offerings from acts all around the world, our featured artist info can be found under the playlist, go have a read and check out theri socials if you can spare a few minutes.

See you on the other side.

Tim Pinter III

Tim Pinter III is a trio made up of Timmy the Boy on Vocals//Guitar,  Dan Greco on Bass and Branyn Gerber on Drums.

Timmy the Boy started making rap music in 2018 and did this for three years before switching genres and with the genre change, he needed a band. Branyn was the first person to join as the drummer. The band was previously formed of a pianist, guitarist and bassist but due to unforeseen circumstances, they parted company. After being pursued by local venues for shows, they needed to find new members….quickly. Dan made contact with Timmy the Boy about a recent show and after finding out that most of the band had recently quit, he quickly jumped at the opportunity and became their bass player.

Influenced by the likes of Childish Gambino, Frankie Valli, Rex Orange County, Silk Sonic, the Kay-Gees, Magnum, and Greta Van Fleet they have gone on to play sold out shows at the Vortex, The Makeshift, Jupiter Studios, the YWCA of Alliance, and most recently the Buzzbin. They have also performed shows at the Massillon Lincoln Theatre and have been played numerous times on WRMU 91.1 FM at the University of Mount Union, WHBC 1480 AM, and heard that they were on the playlist for Kent Core.

‘Show You’ was recorded in Alliance, Ohio with Nelyk working on recording. IT was then sent out to Seattle, Washington where Shane Lance mixed and mastered the track.

Asked about the meaning of the song, Timmy the Boy replied, “The song is about that first moment that you meet ‘the one’. While love at first sight is great and all, there is nothing like that sheer physical attraction shared with someone upon meeting them. When that feeling is shared between two individuals it leads you to feel on top of the world and want to give them the world as well. That is what this song is about. When I (Timmy the Boy) first met my girlfriend, there was an undeniable physical attraction and we could not be separated on that dance floor. The rest is history.”

Asked if he was confident about the track, Timmy commented, “This song is the one that will catapult us into the stratosphere of music. There will be no denying us and we will be a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. We will be the biggest band to come from Ohio and that is that."

Galvezton

The artist, Robert Kuhn, has lived throughout the world and his adventures/tragedies in and out of it contribute the unique fearless expression that will no doubt one day he grasped by humans.

And he’s a communitarian surfer.

He is well studied in literature and mathematics, was an Academic All American linebacker, speaks several languages and is currently embroiled in his recent release, being his third studio album, PERSEVERE, a nine-song collection written and recorded in Galveston, Texas, where Robert resides.

His first album, “Everybody Knows” (2014), was embraced by the local press and commercially successful enough to free him from his day labor at a Houston Shirt Factory and devote time and energy to touring and playing music with his surf, rock n’ roll, blues, folk and reggae band of friends which included the late great extraterrestrial blues legend, Little Joe Washington.

They toured all over the United States and Mexico for years having a good old time until the last day of August 2019 while on the road in Western Colorado in support of their second release, Maria the Gun. Robert was in a nearly fatal van wreck that left him hospitalized in critical condition. He returned to Galveston six weeks later hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, but happy to be alive at all.

With funding and support of friends and fans from around the world, Robert began a long quiet healing process that yielded his latest album, PERSEVERE, a transcendent psychedelic folk experience of electronic and organic instruments; poetry and sound; light and darkness. It’s uplifting and out there for Robert and is available in all forms. This world is changing so fast. Robert hopes it will take him back on the road to share this meaningful new music with his friends and family he’s made along the way..

Catch Galvezton at the La Izquierda all day music and longboard festival which takes place at Menard Park on May 7th. For more info, check their socials below.

The Wildwoods

The Wildwoods consist of husband and wife duo, Noah and Chloe Gose, who share a wide range of influences from the styles of Watchhouse, The Decemberists, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, Joni Mitchell, and Gregory Alan Isakov.

The duo formed in Lincoln, Nebraska in 2012 when they were each just 14 years old. After meeting in middle school, Chloe and Noah began writing and performing together and quickly gained popularity in their local music scene. Fast forward to today, and the now married couple can be found consistently performing all across the country.

The group has supported touring acts such as Elephant Revival, The Hunts, The Accidentals, The Way Down Wanderers, Andrea Von Kampen, and Jamie Wyatt. Along with performing several Sofar concerts in cities such as London, Brooklyn, and St. Louis, as well as a European tour in 2019, the pair has also performed at several festivals including: Summerfest, The Nebraska Folk and Roots Festival, and the Flatwater Music Festival.

In 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2021 The Wildwoods were nominated by the Omaha Arts and Entertainment Awards as a top Americana/Folk artist in Nebraska.

After finding inspiration from sitting alone on the beach, Noah composed a poem where he imagined himself as a sailor, pondering all of his life choices and wondering what he could've been had he taken other paths and opportunities. Being cursed by the "what if", the sailor admires the fictitious character, 'Virginia', who represents all those who have found greater success, and lead seemingly happier lives than he. The sailor realizes that although her existence appears to be perfect from the outside, Virginia has struggles and tribulations within her own life. The chorus then takes the form of the sailor speaking to his younger self. He realizes how carefree, ambitious, and joyful he used to be. Longing to return to the way he used to be, the sailor can still see a slight glimpse of those qualities still existing within his current self. After completing the poem, Noah brought it to Chloe and the two worked together to compose music that captured the essence of the emotions relayed by the poem. "Thirteen Sailboats" was recorded and mixed at Hand Branch Studio in Omaha, NE by Ben Brodin.

Having performed over eighty concerts in twenty states since May of 2021, The Wildwoods have spent the past year documenting stories and emotions that they experienced, heard, and felt while living on the road. They have returned with the emotional single, ‘Thirteen Sailboats’, as well as its music video, both releasing on March 11th, 2022.

The Wildwoods have released two full-length albums (Sweet Nostalgia, 2017 & Across a Midwest Sky, 2019) as well as an EP (Birdie & Goose, 2017), and a few singles. (Like My Old Man, 2021 & Little Home, 2020). 'Thirteen Sailboats' is the first single to be released from The Wildwoods' next full-length album, which will be released in the Summer of 2022.

The duo are playing a couple of dates in May, details below, for more info, check out their socials.

May 20th - Swallow Hill, Denver, CO

The Trusted

The Trusted are Southend-on-Sea natives Dave Batchelor, Dale Holt-Mead, Fin Cunningham and Tom Cunningham. Initially starting out in secondary school, the band bonded over their mutual appreciation of a strong melody and atmospheric, edgy pop. Sharing an enthusiasm for 21st century Brit-rock led by the likes of Catfish and the Bottlemen and The 1975, as well as classic late ‘70s new-wave icons such as The Clash and Elvis Costello, The Trusted thrive off their unique fusion of post-punk energy and storytelling.

Rousing pristine Indie Rock, 'Millennium' is the brand new single from UK based Indie band The Trusted.

Millennium is a song about growing up in the early 21st century. Infusing their Indie Rock sound with subtle electronics and other-worldly synths, The Trusted deliver a sound that offers high production value and is effortlessly clean, cool and authentically their own.

‘Millennium’ was recorded and produced by Rees Broomfield, SS2 Studios and mixed by Grammy nominated Andy Bradfield (Elbow, David Gray, Rufus Wainwright).

Talking about the new track, The Trusted share: “Millennium is a song about growing up in the early 21st century. It’s a song about the constant bombardment of information and electronic noise. We live in time where it’s really hard to switch off and escape the wider world. Everyone wants to be a celebrity and it feels like modern culture worships irrelevant/meaningless content. It’s so easy to lose yourself in an ever-increasing noisy society”.

Alongside critical praise from the likes of Gigslutz, EarMilk, American Songwriter, not to mention widespread BBC and International Radio airplay, the four-piece have been earmarked by BBC 6 Music Presenter Tom Robinson’s Fresh on the Net, and BBC Introducing in Essex as one of the South East’s most vibrant acts.

The Trusted have received support over the airwaves from major radio players including Jake Peach BBC Introducing Essex, Tom Robinson BBC 6 Music, Gary Crowley BBC Radio London and Charlie Ashcroft Amazing Radio and many international radio stations.

Known for their mind-blowing live sets, the band have performed at prestigious venues across the UK, as well as two successful European Tours

This is an act that you’d be a fool to miss when they next play live, keep your eyes on their socials below for information as it lands.
