New Pharaohs have revealed the video for their seductively atmospheric new single ‘This Changes Everything’. Premiered on NOWNESS who described the track as “Spellbinding…

A sultry serenade via Beirut & London.  Producing mid-tempo tunes that tell tales of love, loss and longing…  here the chanteuse appears like a flickering apparition”

The video is a journey through psychedelic dreamscapes, full of enchanting beauty, featuring lead soultress Maya Marie. A whirlwind of colour lays the scene against the track’s classy, alluring tones and symphonic bliss. Beat Magazine described the song as having “…sultry Bond theme elegance… full of longing coos and lush string arrangements, that provide the perfect backdrop for Maya’s gorgeous vocals to float over.”

‘This Changes Everything’ is the latest single to be taken from New Pharaohs’ upcoming debut album. It follows the release of their highly acclaimed debut single ‘Empire’, an effortlessly moving and captivating tale of melancholy reflecting Maya’s childhood memories of war-torn terror in the Middle East and journey to Europe as a refugee.

"High above the land

Spread my wings wide open

All I see is burnt

Where your love leads

Where my heart bleeds"

“Swirling melancholia that channels Stevie Nicks, cockney soul warbling which recalls Jack Peñate, and slow funk influenced by the Beatles, Bowie and Dylan” - The Guardian

“New Pharaohs have crafted a sound that’s completely immersive” - The Line Of Best Fit

Maya first made waves on the UK music scene with the electronic indie-punk band Sohodolls, picked up by Alan McGee (Oasis, Creation Records), who enjoyed considerable international success leading to Maya’s songs featuring in Gossip Girl, Californication, Nip/Tuck, Vampire Diaries and even the Super Bowl and Budweiser. As a songwriter Maya also co-wrote the hit song ‘Beat Of My Drum’ for Girls Aloud member Nicola Roberts.

Birthing New Pharaohs, Maya channels her roots and delivers a heartfelt new sound, awash with reverberations that draw inspiration from artists such as The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Serge Gainsbourg, Pixies, The Cardigans and Lana Del Ray.
