Newcastle based artist PETE BEAT releases 'Drinking Lager' from forthcoming album 'Before The War' - Watch the lyric video here....

UK artist PETE BEAT recently released ‘Drinking Lager’, the first single taken from his forthcoming album ‘Before The War’, featuring the same quirky production style and lyrical slant which appeared on his previous releases. The track features hypnotic synths and humorous lyrics, radiating some positivity at a time where there isn’t much.

Into a world increasingly mirroring the 1930s comes an album partly inspired by the British dance band sound of that era, but updated for the modern age with electronic production and funky beats. Pete’s upcoming album ‘Before The War’ is a collection of 11 tracks, each of which are stand-out on their own and also form part of the wider story Pete draws us into.

Now, Pete is back with the release of the second single from the album ‘Homesick Night’. This time round, Pete explores the theme of loneliness in a less humorous way than he did previously. This is a song that is sure to tug at your heartstrings. As well as writing, performing and producing the album, Pete has also created a 3D animated music video for the track, to be released after the single.

In our current age, social media algorithms polarise the population. Dodgy foreign billions pay for election results which benefit the rich and powerful using Facebook ads. Society becomes increasingly unequal.

Many of the themes in Pete’s album seem to be rather political - addressing society’s inequalities quite scathingly at times - but actually, this isn’t a political album per se, insists the artist. Moreover, there are themes of love and life, loss, mental illness and spending the lockdown summer of 2020 drinking lager in the backyard.

Before The War is the third album from Newcastle-based artist Pete Beat, and will be released on 16th April 2021. ‘Drinking Lager’ is out now. ‘Homesick Night’ drops 19th February 2021!
