With Glastonbury Festival just around the corner, we wanted to provide some handy hints and tips on surviving the entire weekend, the guide is based on a someone who has not attended this massive event before and we hope that it helps you to ensure that you and your friends have a GREAT time!

Firstly, research and decide on the best camping area based on your preferences. Some popular options include Pennard Hill Ground, Cockmill Meadow, or Camp Kerala. Note that you may need to carry your equipment a considerable distance before reaching the camping area. To make it easier, consider purchasing a pull-along trolley or a sturdy backpack with wheels to transport your gear.  Arrive early to secure a good camping spot closer to the festival site, as this will make it more convenient for accessing the stages and other areas.

Festival Experience and Equipment:

Glastonbury Festival offers a diverse and immersive experience. Alongside live music, you'll find art installations, workshops, food stalls, and more. Explore all the festival has to offer.

Ensure you have a comfortable sleeping arrangement. Invest in a reliable tent that can withstand various weather conditions and is easy to set up. Bring a sleeping bag, camping mat, or inflatable mattress for a (better) night's sleep.

Don't forget essentials like sunscreen, a reusable water bottle that you can refill throughout the site at the many water stations available, hat, sunglasses, and a rain poncho to prepare for different weather scenarios.

Pack a small backpack to carry your valuables, snacks, and personal items during the festival. Consider bringing a portable charger for your devices, as you may not have access to charging stations.

It's recommended to bring earplugs or noise-cancelling headphones to drown out noise and ensure restful sleep, as the campgrounds can get lively (they will!).

Environmental Responsibility:

Glastonbury Festival promotes sustainability and environmental consciousness. Pack reusable cutlery, plates, and cups to minimize waste. Bring biodegradable toiletries and wet wipes to reduce your ecological footprint.

Once the festival is over, be responsible and clean up after yourself. Take all your rubbish with you, including your tent. Remove all metal tent pegs from the ground to avoid harming the farm animals, particularly cow’s hooves.

Safety and Security:

Keep your valuables secure by locking them away in your tent or using lockers provided on-site. Stay vigilant and aware of your surroundings.

Familiarise yourself with emergency exits, first aid locations, and the festival's security protocols.

Stay hydrated, apply sunscreen regularly, and take breaks to avoid overexertion and heat-related issues.

General Tips:

Glastonbury Festival offers an incredible and diverse experience. Plan ahead, pack wisely, and be prepared for an unforgettable adventure. Only take valuables that you can afford to lose, do you REALLY need to take that expensive bracelet that may get ripped off in the mosh pit?

Remember to respect the environment and follow the festival's guidelines for waste management and environmental sustainability.

Embrace the unique atmosphere, explore different stages, and discover new artists throughout the festival.

Before attending the festival, be sure to visit the official Glastonbury Festival website for the most up-to-date information on camping options, guidelines, safety measures, and environmental initiatives.

Most importantly, enjoy your time at Glastonbury Festival, it’s a truly magical place, embrace it, live it and get involved!
