Out Now: Sometimes break-ups have their positives too - We listen to the latest track by James Millier....

Though James Millier hasn’t always been the most skilled vocalist, he has certainly improved a great deal with this latest release. He has clearly been training hard. An optimist who always see the glass as half-full, this track goes to show that Millier is fully in control of his artistic career. Though he has had his setbacks; he was bed bound with a terrible foot injury during most of the pandemic, and has also been in and out of jobs since, he has nonetheless kept spirits high and continued to create music!

Though previous releases have been more electro and pop in sound, Millier has always written in depth about relationships and life in quite a philosophical light. For instance, ‘Discover New Memories Together’ is about longing to re-live treasured memories with someone you’ve had a connection with. Now, fast-forward to this latest release, and ‘Brighter Day’, has a new message, which is a little sad, but also uplifting too. Millier is encouraging the listener to see that a break-up can have it’s positives too. He talks from a very personal space, sharing his own raw experience of having loved and ‘lost’ - yet it is precisely this which he turns around and offers a different stance. Nothing was lost. Because what somebody teaches you about yourself is a gift that they gave to you. Yes, people grow apart and times change, yet there’s also a way to frame a break-up differently. You became a better version of you; you are stronger now.
