PREVIEW: We lift the lid on some lesser known acts performing at THE LONG ROAD FESTIVAL

Yes folks, it’s finally time to return to the grounds of Stanford Hall in the UK, for three days of Country and Americana at The Long Road Festival

In addition to the music on show the event also features a display of American classic cars and motorcycles, a mini fairground and a children’s play area. As a festival focused on country music the outlets also include sellers of shirts, cowboy boots and other western paraphernalia.

The music is presented on six stages – the main Rhinestone stage, the Interstate (themed as a western dancehall), the Front Porch (essentially a cabin façade), Buddy’s (Texan juke joint theme). The music runs from Friday afternoon to Sunday night.

There are LOADS of acts performing over the weekend but we have listed a few that we think you’ll enjoy and are certainly worth checking out.

Chapel Hart

Lights, cameras, microphones, a prayer & HERE THEY GO! Danica and Devynn Hart along with their cousin Trea Swindle, make up Chapel Hart and have proven they are truly a force to be reckoned with. These ladies have found a way to gift wrap their Mississippi roots & Louisiana spunk and share it with listeners around the world.

In 2021 Chapel Hart was inducted into CMT’s Next Women of Country, the institution that has been known to help up and coming female country artists such as Kelsea Ballerini, Ashley McBride, & Gabby Barrett... to name a few. This Mississippi trio’s music has reached fans around the globe earning them the title of “International Group of the Year” as well as “International Song of the Year” for the single “You Can Have Him Jolene” in Scotland. They were also nominated in multiple categories by the British CMAs including “Group of the Year” and “Album of the Year” for their sophomore release “The Girls Are Back In Town”.

Flatland Cavalry

Flatland Cavalry is breaking out into a gallop. After years of hot trotting across their native Texas, the country outfit is primed for a breakout with the release of their third full-length album, the sonically sprawling and wistfully written Welcome to Countryland.

The Texas sextet–bandleader and chief lyricist Cleto Cordero, guitarist Reid Dillon, bassist Jonathan Saenz, drummer Jason Albers, fiddle player Wesley Hall, and recent newcomer utility instrumentalist Adam Gallegos–continue to embrace their trademark sound while further pushing into the wild unknown. When it was time to embark on recording a new album, resting on their laurels was simply out of the realm of possibilities.

After the release of 2019’s critically-acclaimed Homeland Insecurity and their 2016 full-length debut Humble Folks, they’ve been on a healthy trajectory rising through the country ranks. After years of working with Lubbock stalwart Scott Faris in the friendly confines of Amusement Park Studios, Flatland decided a change of scenery was necessary. Despite some hesitation and a mix of emotions, they instantly knew recording at Nashville’s Sound Emporium Studio A with rising producer Jake Gear was the right move.
