RAG N' BONE MAN - LONDON SCALA MARCH 24TH - LIVE REVIEW
Never judge a book by its cover – A man who looks like a WWE Wrestler called Bray Wyatt and sounds like his vocal cords were inserted by God himself is appearing at the Scala venue in London tonight and musicmuso had a ticket for the show....
The first moment I listened to ‘Wolves’, an EP by London based musician Rory Graham, aka Rag N’ Bone Man, I realised then I needed to witness this phenomena live. On the 24th March at the packed out Scala venue in Kings Cross, the infamous venue where legends throughout the ages have graced its stage, a lone man stood, looking out from the stage where he is showered with much love and adulation from his fans. Not the most talkative person to see live, this may be due to shyness or as I believe, he is simply in awe of the situation and is simply showing his humility, both as a person and a musician. If you’re at this gig to hear him chat, then wait for him to appear on The Jonathon Ross Show!
Back to the music, Rag N' Bone Man is just showing the audience, what most already know, that, ‘phwoar’ this guy can sing, a voice that emanates from his soul that creates a buzz of excitement and in my opinion a wonder, a wonder how this fella is just now being noticed! A near perfect falsetto hushing the crowd, I cannot speak for anyone else but the energy sent shivers down my spine. All this reviewer knows is this man is the one and only Rag N’ Bone Man.
His set included 'Wolves', 'Die Easy', 'Lay My Body Down' and the beautiful 'Life in Her Yet', all highly emotionally charged tracks. I suggest that if you're reading this, then you should witness this guy live, buy his records and see him rise like cream to the top.
Rag N' Bone Man has the voice to overpower the record industry mechanical self promoted 'pap' music that’s allowed to enter the charts and the minds of our children, if they want to do something good for the people of the future, ban all so called 'entertainment' talent shows and invest money in actually nurturing real talent instead. Something that you can see, something you can assist in growing into a talented individual rather than spending a few grand on some natty threads and sticking some gormless 'oik' in the makeup chair ready for Simon Cowell and whichever false titted lollipop stick he has sat next to him this year! (I digress, apologies....)
To finish off, check out his Facebook page for some pics of Rag N' Bone Man visiting different Tattoo locations upon this tour.
