REN announces debut single 'My Heart Belongs to Ireland'....

A stunning Celtic themed classic conjuring images of arriving on Irish shores to walking the streets of Dublin before returning home to friends and fireside drinks and the warm vocals of Ren to lift a winters day.

Inspired by some of the very best folk and folk-rock musicians of recent times, John Martyn, Dick Gaughan, James Taylor, The Staves and Foy Vance – singer-songwriter Conor Owen has been a true troubadour for many years.

His travels have seen stints of living in the Netherlands, the French Alps and the West Coast of Ireland where the inspiration for his current single comes from. As well as living life on the road around Europe, Conor has also performed in the old folk cafes in New York's Greenwhich Village and South Africa's buzzing creative scene in Grahamstown.

Now residing in the North East of England, Conor is set to release his debut single 'My Heart Belongs To Ireland' as he reflects on the adventures of a truly spirited life.

Here’s what one reviewer has to say on the single:

“Celebrating both a musical and a familial heritage, My Heart Belongs to Ireland is a richly evocative anthem to Ireland’s magnificent West Coast and a celebration of its haunting beauty. A delicately expert guitar intro to this song, entirely suited to Conor’s gently modulated voice and softly lyrical words, produces a yearning melodic suggestiveness that captivates from the opening bars. Sustained and developed from that point by astute musical arrangement subtly invoking the timeless allure of harsh landscape and rolling sea, My Heart Belongs to Ireland swells to the shore of its conclusion as a resonant evocation of ocean, sky and wind.” – The Grahamstown Grocotts
