We caught up with Shauna and Collette from London based Pop-Rock duo REWS ahead of their MAIN STAGE appearance at Beautiful Days Festival....

We first saw (and fell in love with) this amazingly talented London based pop-rock duo at Chagstock Festival in 2016. Since then we caught them again at Beautiful Days when they invited about 100 kids onto the bandstand to join them for their last song (that was fun!). As it has been a couple of years since we last caught up with them, we thought it was about time we sat down and had a chat with Shauna and Collette from REWS about festivals, survival tips and exactly what they think about UK based music festivals....

We chatted to you lovely ladies at Beautiful Days in 2016, please tell me what you’ve been up to since then?

What haven’t we been up to!! We released our debut album ‘Pyro’ which has had an incredible reception! We’ve had two more successful festival seasons and can’t wait to come back to Beautiful days!

Standing in a field watching bands play on stages has become a big thing over the past few years especially in the UK, what do you think it is about music festivals that people enjoy so much?

We think it’s a mixture of great music, great British spirit whatever the weather and the chance to celebrate the things in life that make you happy they’re a great way to leave the melancholy of everyday life behind and appreciate the simpler things in life with friends!

Tell me your top three tips on how to survive a 3 day music festival?

  1. Be prepared for all weather! Wellies/rain mac and a bikini
  2. Take baby wipes!!! Some festivals can be a nightmare for cleanliness, especially if it rains and gets muddy...the baby wipe ‘festival shower’ is a must!!
  3. Drink lots of water....it’s always tempting to go crazy in such a fantastic atmosphere, but make sure you balance your alcohol intake with lots of water to avoid feeling too hungover whilst in a tent!

What is the best thing to drink?

Water and cider...not together obviously, that would be a bit silly!

What is the best hangover cure?

Coconut water is a good one when you’re dehydrated, or just water generally. Or you could go the other way and get straight on the Bloody Marys!!

You’re playing the MAIN STAGE at Beautiful Days Festival, which of the other acts performing are you hoping to catch whilst you’re there?

So so many!! The Hives, Feeder, The Wildhearts, Dub Pistols and Ducking Punches

We’ve had a spell of amazing weather over the last 6 weeks with very little rain, what is your long range forecast for the weather at Beautiful Days this year?

We predict a beautiful 28 degrees...bring your sun cream!!

Where can people keep up to date with you?

On our website - www.rewsmusic.com

This has all our tour dates, merch etc. Our Facebook/Instagram/Twitter gets updated regularly with all our antics so give us a follow! (Fb-wearerewsmusic, insta/Twitter- rewsmusic)

Lastly, please tell me WHY people should come and watch you when you perform at Beautiful Days

We’re like ‘kids in a sandpit’ on stage as Shauna always says, we love what we do, we’ll bring high energy, good music and get you all dancing!!

We'd like to thank Shauna and Collette for taking the time to chat to us and we wish them every success for the future. Catch them on the MAIN STAGE (did I say they were playing the MAIN STAGE?) at this year's Beautiful Days Festival.
