BlackWaters, a rising fourpiece comprising 18-year-olds Max Tanner (vocals), David Carpenter (guitar), Ollie Franklin (bass) and James Watkins (drums), have launched their first official single “So Far Out”—produced by Carl Barat (The Libertines).

 
Today the band release visuals to their single “So Far Out” which was written almost as a reaction to the recent EU referendum (a decision the band members were too young to vote on) and hears them channel their frustration regarding the lack of control they and other people their age have over their own lives.

“So Far Out’ is about how restricted we are when it comes to having a say in things”, says Max. “We can't control anything that happens outside our friendship group really. No one can.” David continues, “We're in a boring as fuck town. That's our generation. There's no inspiration, we've got no platform to say anything on. Our age restricts what we can and can't do. If I was born a few days later I'd be able to vote on a decision that will change my life. I'm talking about the Brexit by the way…”

 
The band have already built up a loyal following and generated plenty of buzz in Guildford by non-stop gigging on the pub circuit. Their music goes beyond radio and magazines. It's about community and blurring the lines between crowd and band, such as the time when they played a Freshers’ gig at their college and then invited the 250 audience members back to their shared house or the many times they invite their fans up on stage. “No barrier!” says Max.

 
BlackWaters are now ready to take their music to even bigger audiences, with a string of new live dates announced that’ll see the band playing until the end of the year.
