SEAGOTH to play London, York, Liverpool & Blackpool on 4 date debut UK tour

Seagoth is 20-year-old Georgia Ochoa, a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer from the northwest of England. Recording in her bedroom, Georgia has been gradually building a loyal following, drawn in by songs such as Internet Cafe (2019) and Eternity (2020), which combine the lo-fi dissonance of bedroom-pop and the striking synth melodies of indie-pop. It was the latter track that brought Georgia to the attention of UK independent label Bytes, who heard it when Andy Bell of shoegaze legends RIDE played it on Soho Radio. (Andy also records for Bytes as GLOK, his electronic alter ego.)

For her first release for Bytes - an EP out 10th November - Eternity has been mixed by Leaf Troup and mastered by Keith Tenniswood (2 Lone Swordsmen), taking it out of the bedroom and turning it into a statement of ambition and intent but without losing the original’s hazy, psychedelic vibe and introspective message of self reflection. There is also an exclusive new track, the effervescent indie-pop of Find the Time, which reveals Georgia’s burgeoning talent for writing big hooks. Completing the EP (and the circle) is a stunning remix of Eternity by Andy in his GLOK guise, stripping the track back to showcase Georgia’s resonant vocal in all its glory before the blissed-out outro that makes full use of the track’s dancefloor-friendly drum break.

You can hear the Leaf Mix of ‘Eternity’ on Spotify here and you can pre-order/save the EP here.

Recent support slots with Deja Vega and Goan Dogs have drawn more attention onto Seagoth, as well as a slot on this year’s Isle of Wight Festival. This November she also heads out on her debut UK tour, hitting up London, York, Liverpool and Blackpool.

10 Nov - The Old Blue Last, London

11 Nov - The Fulford Arms, York
