SONS release video for new DIY single 'ZEALOT' out on Till Deaf Do Us Party on August 25th....

Hard hitting two-piece SONS are back to give us another dose of their raw post-punk fuzz with their new single ‘Zealot’, dropping on 25th August via London DIY label Till Deaf Do Us Party.

Fusing face melting noise and relentless attitude, with influences spanning from Slaves, Blood Red Shoes and No Age to Death From Above 1979 and Lighting Bolt, the Brighton duo take the timeless but sometimes limited power duo dynamic and throw away the rulebook, adding an amount of sheer velocity, energy and volume to an already towering sound.

Following on highly-praised singles; the Radio X and Virgin Radio playlisted ‘Reptiles’ and ‘A Love Song?’, anticipation has been steadily building for their upcoming EP due for release in Autumn. Fresh from playing this year’s Great Escape Festival and Camden Rocks, the duo has seen growing support across key radio shows including Radio X’s John Kennedy, BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart, Kerrang Radio and BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson culminating with a live session on John Kennedy’s X-Posure.

Talking about the song, the band explains: “is about rising up and pushing for changes using your voice. Stand up to the powers that be, don’t just take it, shout at them, whatever you know is right, don't give up until you're heard.” Their anti-establishment underscores the raw nature of UK grassroots post-punk and the new wave of youth discontent that the group’s music was born from.

Comprised of brothers Lee on guitars and vocals and Nick Meldrum on drums, SONS are known for their high-octane live shows; an electrifying two-man jam of satisfying noise, combining monstrous guitars riffs drenched in distortion with explosive drums. The exact method of achieving such a full force of sound is closely guarded, but is obvious the duo to give the two-piece format their own unique slant.

Having already notched up memorable live performances, the band will play a string of UK dates including Tramlines Festival opening party in Sheffield on 20th July, Mark Beaumont Presents at The Monarch in London on 9th August and will support The Kut at The Black Heart in Camden on 13th August.

LIVE DATES

Thursday 20th July - Tramlines Opening Party - The Rocking Chair, Sheffield

Wednesday 26th July - The Kut, SONS and Bxtchtheme - Green Door Store, Brighton

Saturday 5th August - Till Deaf Do Us Party Presents - Old Blue Last, London

Wednesday 9th August -  Mark Beaumont Presents - The Monarch, Camden

Built around direct lyrics, and a DIY attitude, ‘Zealot’ is a fitting example of the new generation of UK rock bands, proving their output is as refined and relevant as it is rough and ready.
