Following the release of recent singles ‘Young Blood’ and ‘Runaway Daydreamer’, Sophie Ellis-Bextor will release her third single ‘Love Is A Camera’ from her album ‘Wanderlust’ on 23rd June.
‘Wanderlust’, which is Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s fifth studio album, is now certified Silver in the UK and gave Sophie her first top 10 record since 2007’s ‘Trip The Light Fantastic’ charting at #4. Co-written, produced and arranged by acclaimed singer-songwriter and good friend Ed Harcourt, ‘Wanderlust’ was recorded in just two weeks in a London studio with other tight-knit musician friends and was released on Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s own label EBGB’s. It features 11 powerfully understated songs showcasing a newfound maturity both lyrically and musically.
Singles from the album so far have included the emotive ‘Young Blood’ and upbeat ‘Runaway Daydreamer’, both of which have received A-List support from Radio 2. The third single from the album will be ‘Love Is A Camera’, which features a fast-paced, dramatic Baroque ending and has proved to be a live favourite. A new video for the single will be filmed in Florence with longtime visual collaborator Sophie Muller.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor recently performed two sold out shows at London’s Union Chapel and a sold out album launch gig at London’s Bush Hall which The Telegraph called “a crowd pleasing triumph”. She has just finished her UK tour and has now announced a further UK tour for September and October.
