Ten Tonnes shares gripping new effort ‘Lone Star’, out today (May 9th) via Absolute, marking the third reveal from his forthcoming LP ‘Dancing, Alone’ (pre-order here) arriving July 28th.

Speaking ahead of its release, Ten Tonnes explained: “I wrote this song a couple of years ago now and the initial idea came from the title I had written in my phone years prior. I was inspired by a lot of my favourite songs from the 50's and early 60's and that tradition of pure songwriting. The title always evoked a kind of Joe Meek production to me so I wanted to try and capture that. I wanted it to feel like a live performance and for every part to have an intention and a place. I think it'll be a great one to play live too”.

Since releasing his self-titled debut album via Warner Bros, Ten Tonnes – aka Ethan Barnett – has undergone a multitude of changes both in his life and in his music. The four years between the debut record and its follow-up, served as a recalibration for the songwriter. He went independent, moved out of London, started therapy, focused on the introverted part of his brain, and has returned with a mature and majestic second album about reflection, growing up and carving a different path for himself.

With an extensive UK tour already lined up for September (incl. sold-out London and Manchester headliners), the indie maestro is certainly primed to build on previous plaudits across the broadsheets (The Guardian, The Times), key indie champions (NME, DIY, Dork, The Line Of Best Fit, Gigwise), and countless plays on the BBC, Absolute Radio and Radio X airwaves (Annie Mac, Jack Saunders, Jo Whiley).

Mixed by acclaimed engineer Jag Jago (The Maccabees, The Magic Gang, Matt Maltese), Ten Tonnes’ ‘Lone Star’ (single) is out May 9th via Absolute and will be available on all digital platforms here.
