‘The Charm Offensive’ out on February 24th through Club.The.Mammoth.
Single launch at The Sebright Arms, February 20th
Based in Liverpool, ETCHES are five musicians from different corners of England with a mutual affection for understated electronics, ear-catching melodies and intricate arrangements.
Having only released their first demo ‘Let’s Move In’ in October the band have already collected an impressive list of supporters with airplay from XFM (as John Kennedy’s ‘X-Posure Hot One’), Radio 1 and Amazing Radio. ‘Let’s Move In’ was also included in Communion’s weekly mail-out as ‘Track of the Week’, whilst the accompanying video was premiered in November by Line of Best Fit.
The band have bridged the gap between ‘Let’s Move In’ and their next release with a brooding cover of Marvin Gaye’s classic ‘I Heard It Through The Grapevine’ recorded in Elevator Studios for Bido Lito! Magazine. The band’s lo-fi, psych-tinged take on the track has accumulated over 6,000 plays in only a few weeks; its live performance becoming the talking point of reviews following the band’s set for Artrocker’s New Blood Festival in January.
Having spent the latter part of 2013 in the studio with Liverpool producer Al Groves (Elvis Costello, The Zutons), Etches reveal the next chapter in their exciting story with new single ‘The Charm Offensive’ released in February via Club.The.Mammoth.
Etches play The Sebright Arms on February 20th.
