We caught up with THE CORRESPONDENTS ahead of LOOE MUSIC FESTIVAL....

The Correspondents are a Jazz/Hip Hop/Drum'n'Bass/Electro duo consisting of a singer (Mr Bruce) and a producer (Chucks). Both growing up in South London, they formed in 2007 and within two years had taken their hi-octane genre-blending dance music from house parties to festival main stages.

It’s hard to pin down exactly what they do. Mr Bruce dances in a tempestuous whirlwind of monochromatic energy while singing, rapping and scatting about the trails and tribulations of love, lust and everything in between. Chucks takes the crowd on a journey through genres from the retro sounds of the Swing Era to Blues and 60s Soul, and then out the other end into Electronica, Drum and Bass & Jungle.

We heard that they were performing at this year's LOOE MUSIC FESTIVAL so thought we'd chat to them ahead of the event, here's how it went....

Please take  a moment to introduce your band and tell people why they should come and check out your set at Looe Festival this year

Hello!  We're Mr Bruce and Chucks from The Correspondents, a multi-genre alternative dance/pop act! Expect a high energy journey though musical genres, from Jazz to Blues, to Hip Hop to Drum & Bass, with lots of dancing, scratching and persperation!

Looe Music Festival is all about putting on a great range of bands, food and a general party atmosphere, what are YOU most excited about this year?

I think we're excited to see the scenery!  We both spent a lot of time in Cornwall in our childhood so have a real affinity with the place.

UK festivals can often be messy affairs, please tell me your top three tips to surviving one?

Tap showers, wet wipes and having a well ventilated tent.

Looe Festival takes place quite late in the year, have you been to any other festivals this year either to play or just as a festival goer? If so, which stood out most for you?

Well Glastonbury is always very special for us, and was particularly good this year.  Playing the last ever Secret Garden Party was surprisingly emotional!

Picking the three headliners for Looe Festival must be quite a tall order, who would YOU choose for 2018?

Vulfpeck, Anderson Paak and Stevie Wonder!

Lastly, there are a ton of bands and acts out there, please tell me the name of one that we should invest some time in?

Definitely Vulfpeck, one of the best bands out there at the moment.

You can catch The Correspondents Headlining the Harbour Marquee at Looe Music Festival on the Saturday night, make sure you're there to share in the merriment!
