Preston band THE EMPIRE POLICE release new single 'Like They Do' - Listen here
‘Like They Do’ is the pulsating and catchy new single from the energetic Preston-based band THE EMPIRE POLICE.
Following up previous release ‘Need To Live’, this new anthem is a combination of soaring synths, pulsing bass lines, driving guitar riffs and rhythms, and hard-hitting drums.
The Empire Police make instantly captivating music, with their new single, ‘Like They Do’ destined to capture the attention of listeners with its irresistible synth hook and intelligent lyrics. ‘Like They Do’ is set to feature on the Soccer Manager 2022 soundtrack, a game that traditionally has millions of players worldwide.
Frontman Jordao Bassa says of ‘Like They Do’:
“The song centres mainly around the dangers of social media, and how younger generations especially are being influenced into thinking that they must love, live and look a certain way in order to fit in and to be accepted. False narratives and unrealistic expectations are seemingly ingrained into our society in the modern world, and the message of the song is that we don’t have to look like they do, we don’t have to love like they do, and we don’t have to do what they do. We hope that listeners feel inspired and empowered, and recognise that what is peddled to you on social media is not reality.“
‘Like They Do’ was recorded at The Future Sound studio in Longridge. The Empire Police’s lead guitarist, Tom Hale, is a freelance producer based out of the studio, and he engineered and mixed the song himself. The track was then mastered by Graeme Lynch at TwoZeroNine Mastering.
The Empire Police are an exciting live band, with praised performances around the North-West prior to Covid season. Now, the band are also erupting back onto the live scene with shows including a hometown support slot with The Sherlocks and a sell out support slot with Apollo Junction in Leeds.
Tom Hale (Guitar), George Jacques (Bass) and Harry Smith (drums) are the engine room of the band and their well practiced, tight sound is the perfect foundation for Jordao’s strong vocals.
The music video to previous single release ‘Real Life’ (view here) has reached 30,000 views on Youtube. By averaging over 17,000 listens per single release on Spotify and with a healthy social media following, The Empire Police are a band with real momentum and unstoppable potential.
