Last weekend, music enthusiasts and festival-goers from far and wide flocked to the lively and vibrant grounds of Scorrier House in Cornwall to enjoy The Great Estate, an annual festival that has become a beloved highlight on the cultural calendar. With its rich history and diverse lineup of headline acts, this year's edition proved to be an unforgettable experience for all who attended.

The Great Estate Festival has been delighting attendees for several years, with each installment surpassing the last in terms of entertainment and community spirit. Established in 2017, the festival has evolved into a must-visit event, attracting a loyal following of music lovers and adventure seekers. Year after year, The Great Estate continues to capture the hearts of attendees, making it a prominent and eagerly anticipated event on the festival circuit.

Headlining the festival's exceptional lineup, The Selecter and Primal Scream led the charge. On Friday, The Selecter brought their signature ska-infused sound, while Primal Scream electrified the crowd on Saturday with their infectious combination of dance beats coupled with classic rock tunes. These renowned acts drew immense crowds and delivered performances that will be etched into the memories of those lucky enough to witness them live. Midway through Primal Screams set, the festival encountered a power cut which was quickly dealt with and within minutes, the show was back on the road with Bobby Gillespie not missing a beat as they tore through the remainder of their killer set. Other bands worthy of note included The Velvet Hands who produced some incredible indie-rock bangers, Crowns with their mandolin heavy alternative sound, Freshly Squeezed who sprinkled some funky vibes over the festival goers and Pattern Pusher who harnessed the power of the sun and encapsulated it into their awesome sound which was lapped up by the masses.

In addition to the headline acts, the festival showcased a diverse range of performers that catered to every musical taste. Fans of both Elvis Presley and Nirvana were treated to a unique experience with Elvana, an Elvis fronted Nirvana tribute band, belting out iconic hits that fused two musical legends into one unforgettable show. Meanwhile, Henge, an inter-galactic space rock quartet, transported festival-goers from Madame Wong’s House of Wrong to otherworldly dimensions with their mesmerising and energetic performance.

Nature bestowed its blessing upon the festival, as attendees revelled in glorious sunshine throughout the entire weekend, the warm rays of the sun complemented the vibrant atmosphere, adding an extra layer of joy to the festivities. As festival-goers explored the grounds and danced to the music, they were greeted by an enticing array of culinary offerings. From mouthwatering French-styled luxury hot dogs to delectable crepes and galettes, from loaded fries to tantalising Thai cuisine, the food options delighted taste buds and satisfied every craving.

The Great Estate Festival isn’t just about music and food, it goes beyond this, creating an immersive experience that embraces artistry, craftsmanship, and relaxation. Throughout the festival grounds, attendees discovered a plethora of arts and crafts, from the ancient art of basket weaving to the soulful melodies of the Native American flute. To unwind and rejuvenate, hot tubs and massage stations offered a blissful retreat, allowing festival-goers to find respite amidst the lively festivities. Furthermore, the festival provided an abundance of activities for children, ensuring that families could enjoy quality time together in a vibrant and welcoming environment.
